Just 2 b clear - I don't believe MJ sang on any Doobies' songs. Period. I think he was delusional in his later yrs, which is not 2 take away from his being an entertainment genius. My point is that, despite what the reporter says, MJ is NOT claiming 2 have sung BACKUP; he's claiming 2 have sung LEAD in those key phrases. Listen carefully. He says, "People are always saying you [apparently talking about McDonald] sound like Michael Jackson. They don't realize it's me that's singing those parts."

NO FREAKIN WAY!!!!! Don't get me wrong. I think Michael Jackson had the voice of an angel and was an entertainment genius to boot, but there's no way in hades he sang on those songs. That particular falsetto voice belongs to the great Michael McDonald.

Also, why does everyone assume he's talking about singing BACKUP (harmony) parts? Listen carefully. He doesn't say that. On the phone he's clearly singing the LEAD parts and saying, "It's me singing those parts."
