the problems brought up in this video stem from vague assertions of future possibilities. The reality of what the future will bring might and in my opinion probably will alienate all these potential problems from extensive infrastructure and the reality of how these technologies are implemented. But uploading has always seemed like it would not work, so not talking about that.
I think its a good idea, any direction to any foot hold in the future provides us closer and closer to being more advanced. HOpefully people evolve and recognize that they represent themselves not a genre. So we may begin to look after our planet and our life.
And the mark of the beast stuff...is probably true if we treat each other with dis respect and the world with hatred.
What we need so dire is an immediate stop of all technological progress, and an immediate acceleration of our ethical developement, to leave the realms of horrible destruction and vileness. We are stonemen with nukes. If we continue to walk this path (war crimes and killbots, world hunger and GMO, poverty and banksters) there is -> zero futuro <-.
@trakkaton I agree..Transhumanists are living in dream land, they think the psychopaths who run this world (elite), the ones who fund all this in essence, have the greater good of mankind at heart, this couldn't be further from the truth...as technology improves, control will increase, we are nothing more than cattle in the eyes of the elitest scumbags, and technology is just a means of controlling us, not empowering us, but ruling over us, directly
You didn't even understand the present, how do you think you can understand the future? War isn't committed because of lack of ressources, but because of control. The means of control are money, oil, drugs, weapons, etc. but that's not the reason why war is committed, just the medium. War is business, and all the fat ol white fucks who run the show of this biz are on the extremest antipole of scarcity: Unlimited luxury.
@trakkaton Control. Yes. Need for control comes from scarcity. You don't see anyone wanting control over Oxygen, why? Because there's plenty of it. None will fight for a rock. So for as long as there's scarcity there will continue to be war and leadershipness.
You got it all wrong. It's not the scarcity that leads to control, it is the control that uses scarcity. There is enough food for anyone on the planet to be fed, yet 100000 starve to death each single day. So there is no scarcity, but still the people who are addicted to control manufacture an artificial, virtual scarcity through artificial, virtual property rights. And the better the technology, the worse their crimes will become.
@trakkaton Starvation comes because food is barely over the population. It's not plenty, and there's also a moral factor to consider. If they gave it to africans for free, why should we pay for food?
Technology is future and future can't be held. And the better the technology, the better our lives will become.
Think about it, if nanotech evolved to the state that it could literally produce things from scratch, the whole property thing would lose meaning.
You did not address my comment, so I will abstain to give in to your new provocations, consisting of even more fallacies and factual errors. You are a trollbot. Turing test? You just failed.
I think that given the progression of technology, transhumanism seems inevitable. Assuming that all of these will be real problems in the future, we should probably already be pondering solutions. I'm not in favor of stopping technological progress because of these perceived problems. I doubt that progress can be stopped outside of some major catastrophic event.
The guy that made this video must be god, because he seems to know everything about how the future will unfold...I'm sure he can tell you how you should live your life.
Any technology comes with potential danger, and major technology jumps will change the way society functions as a whole, but if the advantages of the technology are disregarded and the focus becomes the problems that the technology could present then our advance as a species could slow or even halt. If that were to happen, what would our purpose be at that point?
Yeah, we would really run around helplessly without purpose if it would be for nukes and the nuclear waste production industry. Life would be meaningless if we would fill the ocean with oil from a hole we drilled but cannot close. I just wish I never end up as hollow and vain as you are.
Typical transhumanist: Narrow minded, antiintellectual and opposed to rational thought (as long as rational thought is not a temporary necessity in order to have a new gadget that doesn't blow up right away...).

Suppose your enemies get enhanced and thus they have an enormous advantage over biological humans, and they force you to *insert task/s* .
Your options: Either die, get enslaved or enhance yourself.
Plus if technology got so advanced that nanotech could materialize things out of thin air why would people fight each other.
Fight naturally occurs over limited resources, that's the reason why you don't see people fighting over oxygen.

Control is an addiction. They are psychopaths.

Predicing the future is difficult, If someone was a real Nostradamus they would be breaking the laws of physics

the person who posted this video does not really have a problem with transhumanism.
the person wants a simple little boogie man story to explain what is not understood.

It's pessimistic point of view. Future still might work.
1) overpopulation
It will happen anyway, if, of course, nations will not age before that
2) Right to live will become a privilege.
3) Humans could be remotely controlled and manipulated.
These two were happening since the dawn of ages.
4) Your entire existence is contained withing a tiny computer.
You cannot know that. Your entire existence is contained withing this tiny planet and even more tiny life-span, this is for sure.
