Well, fine... we are looking at tanks firing at targets 3000meters away. But where are the results? What is a percentage of hits? For example, US M1A1 with XM21 ballistic computer - M256 gun - M829A1 APFSDS accuracy of 80% at targets 2.4x2.4meters at 2800meters away. And this is from full stop.

Are similar results available for Type90?

I heard type 90 can fire 30cm×30cm target with 90% accuracy at 2km.

But this is for FCS,I'm not sure how the 120mm/L44SG works at longer distance:0.4mil at 4km?

@deathstrike44 If you mean that Type-90's FCS dispersion is less than +/-15cm at 2km, then it is not surprising. FCS is electronic system and thus it is very accurate. M1A2 FCS dispersion is 0.00035mrad. T-80s is 0.00060mrad. Such accuracy allows to hit a standard target at very long distances.

The problem is that mechanical stuff, like round and gun has much worse accuracy than electronic systems.

So, if FCS can give a fire solution at 30x30cm target at 2km, it doesn't mean that a gun and...

I've seen German firing tables for HE and Sabot rounds from 80s for L44 Rheinmetal gun, and vertical and horizontal dispersion of round was around 65-80cm at 2km. That means that at such distance it would hit a standard 8x8feet target anyway, but sure not 30x30cm.

I supposed that similar tables or statistics are available from Type-90's trials. It would be nice to compare.

Hey,that's not only FCS ability but also including real firing of APFSDS(JM33:JP version of German DM33).

Type 90's auto-aiming system,ballistic computer and calculator(produced by Mitsubishi Electric) often do some greater works.

they track and identified the target using optical means. once the target was identified and track, the gunner will use laser designator for ranging. there's also a less accurate optical ranging and the russian are considering mounting a milimetric radar on their new T-95.
