  • Looking Pretty Jess

  • You're a higher quality human. Good work.

  • I had a dream the other day were i was just decanting a big bottle of water into smaller bottles.

This was really interesting by the way

  • I haven't experienced any negative side-effects with antidepressants. They've helped me. I know, however, that a specific medicine will have a different effect(s) on different people. When I'm on antidepressants, I can organize my thoughts better, and I do feel quite better. I'd rather feel like that than deeply sad (depressed). I also read some where that antidepressants induce signficant changes in neural connections. Of course, exercise, eating well and being mentally active help as well.

  • Hey, I just wanted to know if suicidal ideas (ideation) ever cross your mind or if that is just something that is in your past. I'm wondering cause sometimes you just seem so spent and apathetic in your videos, especially the ones you've made for the past year. It's like the world has disillusioned you. I know the feeling. Btw, I just started taking St. John's Wort. We'll see how that turns out.

  • So for two days the Shaman, sorry doctor, had inspired your faith and it took the mention of God before you realised it was baseless. I wonder what it was that inspired your faith, the letters after his name? maybe the purposeful instruments that accompanied his incantations? You're not an atheist you've just bought into a different faith.

  • Good to see you back :)

  • Have you played the Thief 3: Deadly Shadows?

The horror dream sounds like when you visit the Orphanage / Insane Asylum to discover the past of the Hag.

Could you make that book a horror\? Like the Insane Asylum is a nexus to other worlds, and they say the world isn't what it seems, that it's a giant insane asylum, and the Other side is actually the Real world, ?

  • jess speaking as someone who has personally experienced a close family member (my father) suffer a stroke im glad to hear your mother is on the way to recovery ohhhhh btw how the hell does youtube allow u to push out such long vids? max i can do is 10 mins max

  • Hello! Nice to see you again Jess!

  • Good to hear from you! You sound a lot more determined and hopeful than in the past and actually you've done really well to apply yourself so soon after university. Maybe you can't see it yourself but it's definitely there. It's a very strange time to be a young person, I graduated 6 years ago but still think many of the things that you mentioned in your video. Feel free to come back and ramble, we'll all be watching!

  • For what it's worth, I've been a fan since the beginning. You say that your audience is changing, but is it really us who are changing? You've changed with time, and we've grown and changed with you.

I'd hate to be all hive-mind-ey, but face it, we must clearly share interests to be subscribers of yours. Of course we're interested in what you have to say!

  • You are so kind. :)

  • : ) Hope you're doing well too!

  • Always nice to see you, don't apologise; you're probably my favourite vlogger.

I've aimed to write a book of fiction for years, but as soon as I start I either lose face or get distracted. My current aim is to just write whatever comes to mind, short stories, microfiction, prose poems, jokes, anti-jokes, philosophical meanderings, odds and ends, and then stitch them together into a larger work. (But I'm pretty sure I'll fuck that up as well.)

  • There aren't many 20 minute videos I'd sit through but you're one of the few I find interesting enough to do that. We've had disagreements before where I haven't agreed with your opinion, but I do still like listening to what you have to say.

  • Best video you have ever made.

    Thanks.

I like that bit about "cool" "time to get up"

    Sounds brilliant.

  • Hi Jess,

Great to see you back, especially to see you in relatively good spirits and finding ways to manage your S.A.D.

Your relaxed manner in front of the camera and ability to string coherent, intelligent, sentences (on topic) together rather than the polished (fake) entertainers of YouTube reminds me of what I enjoy most about YouTube, real people.

  • I always had doubts about St John's so thanks for the tip! Do you think it would work well for PMS?

  • Good to see you again. My boyfriend has a BA in English but yeah he works for a big fat world bank now. I got my degree in Illustration and I'm actually a self employed artist now so I'm quite impressed with myself. Not much money but lucky the boyf gets paid quite well. I'm glad your mum's doing well. LOL at the Doctor!!

  • Good to see you back Boundlesseyes. Your looking chilled out.

I hope you reminded that Doctor chap that your a Atheist and you did not appreciate him mentioning God.

  • "you can't live off being a writer" . . . don't say that

  • Your mother is a splendid person!... But what happens if one day you need a kidney? lol

One of my greatest dreams is to write. The other dreams I am successfully fullfilling, but writing - not enough time! I remember reading about Jack London who had a problem with too little time and reduced his time for sleep to 6 hours only. Scot Fitzgerald did a similar thing. They were fanatical about making a success in writing!

I am not depressive but so much dreary darkness annoys me greatly. :)

  • Excellent video title :)

  • low serotonin levels cause depression... it's linked to a problem with tryptophan conversion... try 5-HTP 100mg-200mg one hour before bed... also consider trying valerian root capsules and valerian tea 1-2 cups in the evening... glad to hear your in a solid relationship... i hope U get that job! you deserve it...

    Kensho

  • Let's face it Jess, you have the perfect profile for sales as a non fiction author, feminist, socialist, atheist, bi sexual, past mental issues, pretty, English..heck you write your first book with a catchy title, some interesting artwork and your picture on the back and it will be a best seller!

This is not snarky commentary unless it's about the world in general, but if you wrote like you just made this video you would really have something.

Do it, write your book :P

  • Do you have a link or name for that Alarm Clock?? New ideas for waking in a less brutal way are always welcome.

  • Yeah that really has pissed me off. He's another piece of faith doctors like to use: "The patient has faulty illness beliefs (Hypochondria) therefore does not need testing, shouldn't be believed, and symptoms can not truly get worse", these are all of course true because doctors are professionals who can't be wrong.

The name of their faith is CFS/ME.

  • Hey. ^_^ Nice to see you around, feeling good and in a good relationship.

  • ha! you can say that we will see you soon but I think we know better ;) I am glad that things are the way they are for you now. its exciting to search for work, love, and plan for a future. thanks for having us over for a glass or two. "see you next time" yours Earl

  • tell mum the best

  • I would love to write ive got all sorts of things going on in my head that should be written down but im just not smart enough.

  • A word to the wise... The only way I've been able to get ANYWHERE writing pieces longer than essay-length is by forcing myself to write in the morning. First cup of coffee halfway empty, after the day's first cigarette, I sit down and do my best (and often only) work. It works for me (I think) because I hate being up in the morning. If I were a morning person, I'd likely have to do it last thing at night. Does that make sense?

  • @InModiasWeTrust There's no danger of me being a morning person. =)

What sort of thing do you write?

  • Good to see you again, St. Johns wort is prescription only in Ireland, is it something you have to take for weeks before noticing a difference or you can take it when you feel like it like rescue remedy?

    Stacey.

  • @IncidentalShine I think I can feel the difference immediately after I take it but only after the first 5 straight days or so... the directions recommend taking it three times a day but it might work as a pick-me-up, I'm not sure.

  • @BoundlessEyes I had this nightmare that I went to the Phillipines to teach TESL and worked for some rich primitive tyrant who kept me as kind of a slave with a salary. It's only strange because this is something that I have done a lot in the past but always enjoyed the lifestyle and did well.So why did I have such an dream like that ? Any thoughts appreciated and good luck on the media interview, which is over by now in any case. Luv your vids and will sub.

  • @IncidentalShine Is that a St. Johns wort on her face?

  • having a hard time getting used to a great relationship is something i can relate to. that doesn't diminish my appreciation or enjoyment of the good stuff, it just makes me aware how the knocks of the past add up, and letting all that go is immensely satisfying.

  • yay!

  • Good luck with the jobs.

  • Are you a little bored with your life?

  • @AresRoar ...what life? =p

Yeah. All work and no play...

  • What if she escapes in dreams in the mental hospital.

  • @AresRoar Oooh... like it. May steal that. Or at least try it out.
