  • Just watched this video...as I am applying for the Gilman and I have to say, you have completely inspired me. I am SO nervous in front of the camera, but I think I am going to give this a shot. :) Thanks!

  • I miss being in London soooooo much. I actually got my degree there due to loving it so much after studying abroad. Well, that was only part of it; class credits got fucked up and there was no way in hell that I'd do an extra semester, so I flew my ass back lmao. But in all seriousness, I do love that place to pieces, and would go back in a heartbeat.

  • i might goto college(uni) in the uk, its only 3 yrs(well -scotland lol) & it would be totally awesome & a great experience! hahha i sound cheesey :)

  • i got the gilman and imma do the same follow on as you!! I really thot i was going to be the first person using youtube, but i was wrong haha. this is awesome ;)

  • I just found your channel and I love it, I'm just starting and about to watch all these videos in order but I was just wondering what exactly was your major incase you never covered it. I was interested in doing study abroad but because of reason like the economy I could not really think of what majors would I also benefit me in doing so.

  • the british are free spirited people and i really admire that.

  • can you tell us the best things about london?

cause i'm in love with Britain,

    but i'm asian.

    and yeah.........ahhhh......dreams : )

  • @doctorwhoedgirl Are you American? If so, the Brits only see you as an American, not Asian American. I'm African American, and they always called me the American girl, not African American girl. It was nice that I was described as my nationality first rather than ethnicity for a change. I felt more American in London than I do here in my birth country.

  • That's great

  • Oh this is awesome, i found this video blog on the Institute of International Education website.

I am wondering if it's possible to know what kind of education did you do over London? and what's your major?.

    Thanks.

  • i live next to london so XDXD

  • Did you Try Cadbury's Chocolate? I coud never move abroad away from My Cadburies... MmmmMmmm!!

  • I live in London and I fucking hate it

  • lol! You LOVE IT really!

  • no i really don't lol.

  • But you have Los Angeles, CA on your profile?

  • too fuckin right its shit

  • hey. didnt you TOTALLY love the flavors of chips (crisps) over there?! omg. my teacher went to the UK about two years ago n she brought back a bunch of potato chips.

    -shrimp cocktail

    -roast beef

    -lamb and mint

.... and she brought back cheeky monkeys and flying saucers and all these other candies!

    it was amazing!!!

  • hahaha yes!!! the flavors were amazing! hrm.. I remember they were asking about..CURRY yes! curry-flavored crisps! But salt and vinegar has def. grown on me : )

  • And you didn't try Walkers' (Lays') squirrel flavour?

  • i stayed in a hotel room there

    and it was very small

    very nice during Christmas

    but colder than I imagined

    and I'm from Canada

  • Cane toads. xD

  • Comment removed

  • lol i was there once. but i was very young,,, like still not born yet, in my mothers stomach young. haha.. but it was cool :)

  • if you find a cheap good quality place that serves breakfast all day then i will ekiss u! :p

  • did you really think londoners talked like that? btw i moved permanently from america to england and want to know you're general opinion on Britain and the British.

  • in a native london-ers opinion

what are the most beautiful and usually overlooked places in london?

  • My question is why do Brits think it's weird to eat pb&j sandwiches (if we can eat them apart, why can't we eat them together?) and why do they eat peanut butter sandwiches with peas?

...Or so I've heard. I've never been to London.. or anywhere for that matter.

  • i moved from america to london and i can tell you that people do NOT eat peas in their peanut butter sandwiches here. btw people from britain simply think pb&j is wierd because its unfamiliar here, just like you would think of marmite or pudding or trifle as weird.

  • soo do you like london

  • ugh you're SOOO lucky!

my goal is to go to London sometime in the future during winter break!

    it's on my bucket list!

    so jealous :D

  • Do they find your American accent charming or the opposite of charming?

  • this guy in my hall loves american accents and especially loves them southern accents. But I don't know if he should represent England as a whole. Will try to discover!

  • i think we watch so much american tv that american accents arnt that big a deal. it's only strange when you have different words for stuff

  • Garbage, Washroom : ) I was so confused when i went to Canada which isn't America but close n i was asking my cousins where to put the rubbish is and they were like wtf.

  • Got your link from Xuan's facebook. What a happy beginning!

    My answers:

    1) The stiff upper lip and dry humor of the Brits come from their day-to-day frustrations with the gradual breakdown of their historical and majestic infrastructure. Such as plumbing.

    2) Do they recycle? 10 years ago, only newspaper got recycled.

    3) I'd love to go to Hampstead Heath for hiking (be sure to check out the smallest M sign of the McDonald's I've ever seen--next to Hampstead underground station).

  • Hi! oooooo you know jiejie! thank you for your responses! I'll keep and eye out for things ; )

  • what do you think of london?

  • point number one is simply not true. though one can recycle the same things here as in america, i'd say its slightly harder to do so here.

  • I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS! Youre so adorable and contagious! I love you're ebergy!

  • thank you so much! that very sweet of you : ) any requests?

  • wait, are you going to be there in december-january? Cause I'm going there for vacations and I'm also planning on meeting my friend garbo!

  • My last day here is late December. whoa! rendezvous in the way east for shizz!

  • I will answer your first question since the second and third ones..Ii really don't know

The UK is where Natalie and Garbo live! and where the next summer Olympics will be held....they like to drink tea...:)

  • Natalie and Garbo! Who are they? I know Greta Garbo...

Yeah I want to see where they're going to have the summer olympics. Hrm..I see if they prefer tea or beer. methinks the yeast is a bit more favored, but we'll see :B

  • wait wait I take that back! yes yes Natalie and Garbo are in the UK!!

  • There is an amazing indian restaurant called Rasa N16 on Stoke Newington High Street, that particular one is veggie so if you need meat with the meal there is another one that does meat on Dering Street, but the food there is GORGEOUS and it's way cheap, especially as London goes.

There are alot of really cool places in London, you just have to look in kinda unusual places to find places that are affordable cos it's pretty expensive.

Have an awesome time over here in the little old UK!!

  • thanks so much! beautiful and cheap food? I'll definitely check that place out this week. London is much more affordable than I anticipated.

  • Have you taken public transport yet? I hope you have an oyster card!

and Oh my yes go to Rasa, seriously, the food is soooo good!

  • oh and do still think we talk like that? lol

  • i stopped hearing the accent when I was in London, but now that I'm back int he states, the accent has again captured my heart!

  • ohhhhhhhh thats so awsomeeeee. I am definitely working there! You have to tell me whats good in London!!!! I'm most likely going to apply for a undergraduate position there asap!

    Jay

    ps. ugh your so lucky!!

  • you are a marble fan too! awesome!!! Def. come here! I haven't met any australians (stalkerish? yah knowz!), but I'm sure that there are plenty around : )

  • London is for me a mythical city where there's elves and dwarves no? No seriously, lol, it is mythical and I'm going there in december for vacations! But like christian, I'm envious of you studying abroad

  • I'll check out about the elves and dwarves for you! I think they're a bit invisible in the city, but when I go tot he countryside, I'll be getting my dwarf detector goggles out asap!

  • Howdy lan! I see you are vlogging. I do not vlog, I only make juggling videos. But here:

    1. I think London is becoming a police state! Look at the thousands of CCTV cameras over there?

    2. Do you enjoy being watched by the ever present eye of GeGe?

    3. How much does public transit cost?

  • I've asked one person about the CCTV cameras!

    Who's GeGe?

  • GeGe is big brother, haha

  • P.S. totally jealous you're getting to study abroad. totally envious...

  • I'm envious that you frolicked like mad and went on a smashing road trip! I just had to top that one and frolick in a different country 4000 miles away from home. tag! you're it!

  • i heard there is delicious Indian food in London. Fact or fiction?

  • Fact!

  • i'm not going to believe is until i hear it from an American reporting on London-ites (and certainly not from someone who takes forever to respond to a 5 facts tag such as natt12321). lol.

  • yes! I hear about the magical curry! But though the local folk say that it is true, we must inspect this claim first-hand. Can't be no Mary-lu. or else we be a foo' and that aint' gwyne to work fer schoo' cause azn brainz needs to make monay fer foo'd

  • london is defo the curry capitol of the world. outside india of course.

  • I've only had the curry in my dining hall and at that time, I didn't know that I was eating curry because it was some dark brown substance. One day I'll have real british curry! which point number one were you talking about? yeah, I find it difficult to recycle here, but the incentive to reuse plastic bags and things seems to be a pervasive culture.

mm? I was sort of sarcastic with how I thought british folks spoke : ) when did you move here?

  • I thought london was pretty lame about recycling. In other european countries and in japan they are a lot more strict about recycling

  • There are places to recycle it's just that there aren't many in high streets ect. and not that many people bother.
