  • Ps. Great animation. Keep making them, so I can be inspired even more to make stopmotion.

  • @Jstar432

Absolutely. I've just posted my son's latest and we're working a a new project to release for x-mas.

    And, Thank you!

  • epicness in a umm a video. I want to do stopmotion but..... I lost my camera so I'm having to use a webcam taped on a candy almond jar. Do you know know any good stopmotion programs?

  • what kind of stikfas did u use for the black glove?

  • @bigshow372

They were just black hands and forearms off of the Omega Knight.

    Thanks for watching. :)

  • i like stikfas to. but i orderd one and THEY CANSLD ME ME. i love stikfas.

  • Nice! I like stikfas...

  • cool

  • Hey I just uploaded a Stikfas video that's pretty good! Watch it and see for yourself, just search "Stikfas Plastic vs Clay". I want to know what you think so give me some feedback!

  • Haha that was Funny!

  • playmobil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What was that figure (not stikfas) At 1:16

  • It's part of a set of modular magnetic Kaiju (Godzilla-themed) toys. You can interchange limbs, tails, heads, etc. That one in particular is the skeleton version of Godzilla.

  • Possibly.

    It's certainly worth a look.

    They make excellent props. *nod*

  • lawl playmobil? I wonder if they sell cheap "loose pieces/props" for playmobil toys(or in this case stikfas) on ebay for cheap

  • where did you get the props tell me plz like Coffe cup Laptop etc.

  • They are Playmobil accessories.

    Perfect size for Stikfas. ^_^

  • Yep, we're still coming to grips with keeping our set-pieces stuck-down.

I think we're getting better over time.

    Mostly.

    Thanks for commenting!

  • the table moves around to much

Im not trying to be mean everything elese is fine

  • You're right- playmobil just don't cut it. But you should've given lego a chance.

  • That's a good point.

I didn't mainly for the reason that there was an issue of scale.

  • Ah. Fair enough!

  • The same thing disqualified Lego's older cousins the Bionicles. They being far too big.

  • Another great video. What a pleasure to watch.

  • Thank you again!

  • what was the head of that combined monster out of combined stikfas parts on day 4?

  • It was an empty red helmet from the Beta Female warrior w/dragon. We used the ponytail connection to connect a forearm as a "neck" and stuck some eyes on the visor.

    This creature was IgnisDraco's creation.

Thanks for watching, and for the question! ^_^

  • What is the creature hes testing from Day Three?

  • It's a little skeletal Godzilla figure. Basically a magnetic cube with magnetically attaching head, arms, legs and tail.

It is definitely the hardest of the experiments to visualize.

  • amazing i could feel the emotion from the scientist even low there was no facial expressions. i have the same brand of web cam

  • It's a lovely little cam. :D

We've strapped ours down to a weighted tin with little rubber footings to keep it stable for filming. So it behaves much like a studio camera...except with greater height adjustment.

We worked really hard to make body language do the bulk of the communicating. Mainly because we weren't sure if we'd have time to do any audio.

  • i think it is better when a short animation is silent because it makes you think more about what the character is saying than hearing it and thanks for the tip on making you webcam steady and weighed down because all of my animation tests have the webcam siting on my lap top

  • I think in the end a non-scripted but emotively vocal performance worked out really well. We did manage to do sound, but didn't try to make it feel like Television.

A mobile camera that can move through a set as though it were a character (or standing in for one) is always a plus. And you're very welcome.

  • Laughing and laughing! I am so glad I ran into this! Everything about this little film is delightful. :) Thank you, both, for having the patience to make such a charming film and I really hope you do more. I think you have a bright future ahead of you...especially if you keep your your current "talent" (that cute scientist).

    Best,

    alv

  • Thank you, alv.

We are making another film now. And we do expect that our friend the Scientist will be a regular if not the pivotal character in most of our films. We've recently decided on a name for him, and his supporting cast will grow over time.

The film currently in production is the one we'd originally been planning - until I re-read the contest rules and realized it wouldn't work. It's taking a while as we have a lot we want to do with it, but please do check back with us later.

  • This is a pretty good animation. How long did it take you to make it? Filming and Effects?

  • Thank you!

Filming time was scattered over a period of about a week and a half. I'm guessing at roughly 16-24 hours of proper filming (including re-shooting and things we ended up not using), and an additional 6-8 spent on sound and visual effects not shot during filming.

Mind you, this was being shot by a 10yr old and his 37yo control freak of a father.
