Just to throw this out there, this method also works for recovering music if you hook your iPod up to a new computer and iTunes "deletes" all the music from your iPod while initially syncing it to the new library. I've been frantically trying for hours to recover my music and this finally worked. Words cannot express how relieved I was to get back all 8 gigs I thought I had lost. I had the same problem with song titles being replaced with random letters. If you move one song to the recycle bin, then restore and go to see where the file is restored to. When it comes back it has its name and the numbers are gone. I did all of my files and restored them. Some artwork is missing but you can work around that.

If you have a new computer and you want to tranfer your music etc to the new iTunes program,all you need to do is copy everything to disc.

Open iTunes on your new computer, load the disc(s) and a window will open asking if you want to download from the disc and away you go!

Playlists will also be kept using this method.Simples!
