i quit WoW 2 days ago for AoC, AoC is sooo much more skill based in pvp, and in WoW if your a rogue then you rape everyone. Not to mention in WoW its all gear dependant, in AoC its more skill dependant.

Speaking as a general beta player : The "lag spike" was due to a bad conqueror particle effect that stacked up way too many times. You see it when you get the really bright areas. It's only supposed to be a vague white haze.

I believe any class can stealth or "Hide". From what i've heard from a different video but you have to take into acount armor weight and such. As long as there are no torches around any class can hide "hide". But is more effective as som classes to stealth than it is for others.
Well i liek barbarians because of the high dmg ive seen them do and because in WoW my main class was a healer so i wanna move away from that and my alt was a rogue wich i didnt like much cause he got boreing after lvl 40 or so its barbarian or ranger for me.

Lag =/= Low FPS, Low FPS is caused by your computer sucking, not your connection, I was in the beta weekend and I didn't get low FPS like that at all.

Bro, wow is a skilless grind game and on launch it was a average. This'll follow the same path, itll be awesome on launch cus of all the new things it offers, but unlike WoW, this game will remain to be fun as u explore the deep dynamics of grouping, spell weaving etc. until the next patches come out.

Actually I have played it for a while and I can say that wow is boring and very repetative. It actually really doesn't take much skill to play. AoC takes a lot of skill to play perfectly and it is way more in depth and strategic.

im still deciding between an assasin or a barbarian, because as i have seen, assasins mainly have to go attack from behind their opponents and im sick of that as from World of Warcraft. I'd prefer to just hack and slash and kill things in my path, so im wondering does the assasin still do decent damage infront of the enemy? and what would u guys choose for dps? the assasin or the barbarian?
Barbarian...definatly. they have waay less armor than a conquerer, but they are complete berserkers. its like fury spec in WoW if you are as i am a WoW vet looking for something that doesnt blow after a few years

The archtype for barbarian is rogue, which also happens to be the same for assassin. So yes, the barbarian is stealth. Any class can stealth with the right feats.
Confirmed! All the classes have the stealth-abillity, but the Assassin is the master of stealth. Funcom have done so that the less cloth/armour you have, the harder there is for enemy to detect you while in stealth. So a person in full plate are having a hard time to stealth around, compare to a person in only trousers.
The game beta is running on an older engine than the game it self. So i think the frames wont drop so much in massive combat but i think it will drop a bit if you dont have a VERY good screencard.

Darkside310: They have changed the demon form to last only for a short time, but increased the dmg you do significantly. This was mainly because of chars never got to se theyr gear etc when the Demon form was a last until canceled buff. I personally and alot of others to think this was a bad move. But at later levles the Xotli form now is amazingly strong.

I think you will need at least a 8800GT with 3 Gigbagyte Ram to fight at 25 PFS which is the real minimum if you want to have ANY controlled fights at all (remember the shown 7950 is even faster than the new 9600 GT).
Stealth does not break,..ever. You can stealth on top of the freaking torc (in one of the CTF maps). All it takes is 30 points into stealth. So there you are full of it.

Ok, first of all, anyone that thinks AoC is ripping off wow, is mis-informed, considering conan has been around circa 1930 or so, and tolkien before that, is where much of the fantasy ideas came from. In terms of gameplay, AoC has a dynamic, skill and even TACTICS based combat system. Etc, pull people into a ravine and go all "300" on them, as players actually take up space, and shields can actively block. Amongst many other things, its also more mature, so less kiddies to deal with.
This game is good the guy has no idea how to play and you need to turn down the volume and just watch he is negative cause he probably has never been in an MMO that takes this much skill. Its alot more skill based than any other MMO ive played

Well im maybe a bit older then u and i think wow is truly boring now that i have 3 70s.. And theese pvp matches aint made to be long. When you come up to higher lvl you begin with siege combat wich is invading a fort. And there will also be guild wars for the sites to place a temple in.

At launch they are going to introduce spell weaving for casters. That should help. Besides, this is only lvl 20 out of 80. Lots more skills and combos left! :)

good try, but you missed a lot of good shit. you do more damage from behind because there's no "defense" or "shield" there. if you held down ctrl, you'd know there is a reactive defense thing you can use to move the "defense plates" into the direction that your opponent is attacking you.
i got great performance out of an 8600GTS oc'd at medium settings - at practically max on 1440x900, i got 10-15 fps or less. 25 if i stared at a wall.
I wanted to be a assasin to begin with,... but then i saw the barbarian! awesome, it can take more damage, but wont hit ass muth ass the Assasin, but still... if it works like it does in World of warcraft im still going 4the Barbarian

I believe any class can stealth or "Hide". From what i've heard from a different video but you have to take into acount armor weight and such. As long as there are no torches around any class can hide "hide". But is more effective as som classes to stealth than it is for others.

Well i liek barbarians because of the high dmg ive seen them do and because in WoW my main class was a healer so i wanna move away from that and my alt was a rogue wich i didnt like much cause he got boreing after lvl 40 or so its barbarian or ranger for me.

This is at lvl 20 ! the game havent realy started yet,ppl havent got most of theyr spells/combos,and theres no way of tellin how the classes are compoared to eachother at 80 !
BTW, if u pick a class just to win,and not interested in any of the awesome gameplay here,u are lookin at the wrong game. go for a world of nabcraft rogue and/or druid and youl win 90% of the time ;)

Lag =/= Low FPS, Low FPS is caused by your computer sucking, not your connection, I was in the beta weekend and I didn't get low FPS like that at all.

Those team mates of yours are just that! so you should learn to play with them rather then running around in stealth and then mashing wen you see an enemy.

Bro, wow is a skilless grind game and on launch it was a average. This'll follow the same path, itll be awesome on launch cus of all the new things it offers, but unlike WoW, this game will remain to be fun as u explore the deep dynamics of grouping, spell weaving etc. until the next patches come out.

Actually I have played it for a while and I can say that wow is boring and very repetative. It actually really doesn't take much skill to play. AoC takes a lot of skill to play perfectly and it is way more in depth and strategic.

im still deciding between an assasin or a barbarian, because as i have seen, assasins mainly have to go attack from behind their opponents and im sick of that as from World of Warcraft. I'd prefer to just hack and slash and kill things in my path, so im wondering does the assasin still do decent damage infront of the enemy? and what would u guys choose for dps? the assasin or the barbarian?

Barbarian...definatly. they have waay less armor than a conquerer, but they are complete berserkers. its like fury spec in WoW if you are as i am a WoW vet looking for something that doesnt blow after a few years

The archtype for barbarian is rogue, which also happens to be the same for assassin. So yes, the barbarian is stealth. Any class can stealth with the right feats.

Confirmed! All the classes have the stealth-abillity, but the Assassin is the master of stealth. Funcom have done so that the less cloth/armour you have, the harder there is for enemy to detect you while in stealth. So a person in full plate are having a hard time to stealth around, compare to a person in only trousers.

The game beta is running on an older engine than the game it self. So i think the frames wont drop so much in massive combat but i think it will drop a bit if you dont have a VERY good screencard.

Oblivion isn't an MMO that needs to support lots of players, online games tend to lag online when there is a needless amount of effects and animations going on around you.

I could comment alot here. But i'm not going to justify alot of these retarded posts with an respons.. Darkside310: They have changed the demon form to last only for a short time, but increased the dmg you do significantly. This was mainly because of chars never got to se theyr gear etc when the Demon form was a last until canceled buff. I personally and alot of others to think this was a bad move. But at later levles the Xotli form now is amazingly strong.

I admire your fan(atism). But always step back a few more yards to have an objective overview. Otherwise you could hurt yourself really bad. I remember a guy who posted here that he had already done the open world siege battles with 200 men...
The more objective you'll be now the more fun you will have in playing the game.

When wow came out they only had 100,000 preordres.. AOC has now i think 1 mill +.
I dont think this game will have as many players as wow becuse of the age limit but the game will have more matcuhre ppl in the game and more things to do at max lvl.

The game will have +/- 300K/500K subscribers worldwide in the beginning. Why?
Timing is perfect: they are the only new kids on the block, but graphics are too high and performance WILL be an issue.
I think you will need at least a 8800GT with 3 Gigbagyte Ram to fight at 25 PFS which is the real minimum if you want to have ANY controlled fights at all (remember the shown 7950 is even faster than the new 9600 GT).
I think this limits the number of users already.
Instances doesn't help either.

They claim to be able to get 120fps with their new engine and hold up to 500+ player siege battles with still around 30-40fps.
Only time will tell on that though.

Stealth does not break,..ever. You can stealth on top of the freaking torc (in one of the CTF maps). All it takes is 30 points into stealth. So there you are full of it.

Ok, first of all, anyone that thinks AoC is ripping off wow, is mis-informed, considering conan has been around circa 1930 or so, and tolkien before that, is where much of the fantasy ideas came from. In terms of gameplay, AoC has a dynamic, skill and even TACTICS based combat system. Etc, pull people into a ravine and go all "300" on them, as players actually take up space, and shields can actively block. Amongst many other things, its also more mature, so less kiddies to deal with.

Well...i just remember Vanguard...should be also the "leading mmorpg" but it completely sucked...wow is also not really spectacular...its simple but really good working most of the time.
Interesting will be if AoC will have a big community like WoW, really innovative features like DaoC and additional to this, a good working fight and social system.
And to be honest...until now i do not see any real blockbusting features in this game.
But we will see.

Well im maybe a bit older then u and i think wow is truly boring now that i have 3 70s.. And theese pvp matches aint made to be long. When you come up to higher lvl you begin with siege combat wich is invading a fort. And there will also be guild wars for the sites to place a temple in.

At launch they are going to introduce spell weaving for casters. That should help. Besides, this is only lvl 20 out of 80. Lots more skills and combos left! :)

good try, but you missed a lot of good shit. you do more damage from behind because there's no "defense" or "shield" there. if you held down ctrl, you'd know there is a reactive defense thing you can use to move the "defense plates" into the direction that your opponent is attacking you.
i got great performance out of an 8600GTS oc'd at medium settings - at practically max on 1440x900, i got 10-15 fps or less. 25 if i stared at a wall.
