@DiscoDogPacmanFrog Steve just got a new tank (20 gallons) with a Tetra Fauna Viquarium in it, so half of the tank is water now. We'll be making a vid soon!
I replace the dirt every month, so i just get rid of it. The moss, I put in a bucket of water and swirl it around. then i dump the water, get clean water, and do the same thing. I replace the moss ever three months.
@MrFuzzyMeep Thanks but no thanks. I used to have a setup like this but my toads were unhappy, so i made them a land setup. now they are very happy (they dont go in the water much.) they prefer the land, more. normally, i would recommend your habitat, but some toads (like mine) dont like the water and prefer the land.
@HerpCare101 How did you know that your toads were unhappy?
If they dont go in water much there is something wrong in the water or in the toads. And im quite shure that there is something wrong with the water. Did you have an internal filter in your previous tank? That can cause a lot of underwater noice wich may buther the toads quite a lot. Or did you have wery deep water? The toads prefer shallow water so that could have been a problem too.
@HeGe1100 my toads weren't eating. i had a quite good working filter. they had around 2-2.5 inches of water. I took them to the vet and he said there was nothing wrong with them. then i talked to the owner of our local pet store and she suggested the tank they currently live in. right when they made the move they started eating and hopping around and climbing the rock. they are happy and healthy now
you need more water, because they are mostly water-dwellers, you should really just use gravel

u do realize tht the toads can climb the leaves and fall out
epicghost123 1 month ago
@epicghost123 There's a screen top, so the leaves are only coming out of the top a little bit, and the frogs can't fit through.

Good setup, but you should definetly have water 3-4 inches deep, and 1/3 land, 2/3 water
