  • I can't see why people still argue the expensive, unreliable and unpractical Lexus LFA is better than the more cheaper, grippier, faster accelerating, more exciting, better looking (in my opinion, that is), reliable and practical Nissan GTR...

  • captain slow

  • MADE IN JAPAN.............I have driven the old 1996 skyline GTR 10 years ago in newzealand with the legendary 2.6L engine and it was incredible,so amazing.

  • i have driven a 2011 GTR the launch control REALLY IS INCREDIBLE

  • for about 50K you can smoke any car in 100K+ range, dam thats a beauty..WAY TO GO JAPAN! us americans should take lessons from you

  • @bloodrainization

    50k range? You're kidding right?

A brand new GTR in the states is 90k without taxes. An older used one with around 5-10k miles cost around 70-80k...

  • @CJAEY im talking about certified used which are like almost brand new... check the link. 2012 GTR got 900 miles (which is nothing for only 50K).

  • @bloodrainization

    Wrong...

Look at the KBB value of a '12 GTR with 900 miles.. Is far above 50k. KBB any GTR.

None of them are under 65k.

  • @CJAEY sorry it was a 2009, you can easily get a certified used 2009 with low miles for 65K ive myself seen a few

  • @bloodrainization look up 2009 gtr's on used car websites like cars.com you'll see

  • To think that i can actually afford one of the greatest cars ever made. Damn my licence would be gone in days.

  • This is why you should not pick on geeks/nerds...Because sometime in the future, they'll end up being engineers for companies like Nissan!

  • Am a big fan of Top Gear and is the first time that James & Jeremy agreed to add the same car to their wish list....I must add that I WANT MY OWN GTR TOO!....Thank you KABUTO KOJI for letting Kaizer out of Japan for the rest of the world to enjoy it!

  • Most epic laugh ever

  • This is the only car I want. I would probably never even run it to its full potential. But I want to keep it as a marvel of engineering and precision.

  • His face on the first launch says everything...the rest of stupid coment about other TM fanboys are piontless

  • GTR is a beast and been so in the last 20 years!!! my only Nissan that i like. 50k gets you to tear up any competition in the 100k value!! lol thank you Japan for doing it right as always!!

  • @krsdakng : GTR is a standard by itself. All that from a V6 !

  • @TechCrazy with 2 turbos the size of africa

  • Thanks for this! Enjoyed it a lot.

  • my penis have launch control

  • 2:49 PROOF we don't need math

  • Sounds like it red-lined and didn't shift at 2:25 Odd... (his second time launching)

  • @jdbs2009 listen to what he says at 3:10 .... "this time ive got to remember to change up into 2nd it all happens so quickly.."

  • @innie721 ah thanks. I missed it

  • @jdbs2009 Gearbox has 3 settings it seems he didn't turn on the racing setting on the Gear Box

  • the greatest car ever made

  • Captain Slow going fast? :o

  • who says james may can't drive fast =D

  • fuck you, spaniards

  • When shifting a car like this does one have to let their foot off the gas as in a traditional manual trans?

  • @DivineTrader no, just rev and change gear or rev and leave it to the car.

  • @jurek323 Thanks! So, that car has an "automatic" mode, not requiring the paddle shifters?

  • @DivineTrader both , u can "play " with gears or put it in automatic.

  • i wanne do that too may i use it too

  • this is engineering at it's finest

  • I can't think of a scenario where you would use launch control on public roads...

  • @xKurogashi At every single red light your stopped at ;)

  • @xKurogashi i do... but u are clearly not man enough too understand. u just got caught for speeding, the police is coming up to u why u are at a standing still... Launch control, cyaaaaaaaaaa! and u just saved some cash and ur license ;)

  • Cacetada !

  • Check the 911 Turbo S , 0-60 2,6 sec , the second fastest production car to 60 in the world ;) , pulls even more G´s than the GTR ;)

  • @GtrEvo yes but the gtr excells in value, what you get for what you pay for

  • @GtrEvo uhh the official porsche website says it does 0-60 in 3.3 seconds, slower than the gtr.

  • Nothing better than Japanese cars :)

  • Pause at 3:57 for May's hidden message to Clarkson lol

  • shud of had hammond in that car really nt caption slow wat does he know about fast cars he owns a fiat panda for pete's SAKE

  • @dante66682 I'm going to guess he knows a whole hell of a lot more about fast cars than you do.

  • @dante66682 and a porsche, and a ferrari. He knows the most about cars out of the 3 of them.

  • @dante66682 He also owns a 911 :)

  • BLOODY HELL!....lol

  • take this over a lambor or ferrari any day !

  • I think he was getting his fizzing penis.

  • are you fucking kidding me, did i hear a reverse beep, it's not a fucking truck how fucked up is that XD

  • Id never thought I'd see the day I would lust so much after a Datsun.

  • @wurdup354 240z was very lustworthy, and that was 40 years ago.

  • It's uploaded on July 26th 2011; so how is it a 2012 released car?

  • @nosxpress !??!?!?!? dont you know that cars are always labelled as being 1 year "newer"? like now its 2012 and theyre already advertising the 2013 lineups

  • @nosxpress some cars ive seen release early, plus i think they get this early to test

  • @nosxpress

wow really, new models are released in the previous year

  • 英語だから、よくわからないけどすごい楽しそうww

  • my dreams cars

  • I will never look James the same way again, after he pointed middle finger to Jezza. Look at 3:53

  • @sonyviva308 he was signalling them to come over. no middle finger, just his index finger.

  • I'd take a GTR over any car under $250,000, its simply the most car, and performance for the money, truly ahead of its time.

  • funny thing is chief enginner of the GT-R said this isnt even a LC it was designed to get you out of the mud or snow. Guess too many users are fucking up the £20k transmission using this feature over and over

  • @itssimpleiwinyoulose He was speaking about the VDC OFF mode in the 2009 model. Since the 2010 model there is also a separate LC which is indeed LC, meant for acceleration not traction.

  • japans cars are the better`s

  • its crap, hes impressed, but its not perfect.

  • I like my cars like I like my women, fast and asian.

  • @Fubikon I bet you also like them to be made in 2002 or newer.

  • @JETZcorp Bravo!

  • @JETZcorp Win

  • @JETZcorp hahahahahaha

  • BTW, I think James needs to work out a little. He needs to lose some weight.

  • This year I think I am actually going to order GTR. What a amazing car!!!!

Japan is expecting another massive earthquake around Tokyo area within next 4 years. When it happens I hope it won't damage or disrupt GTR manufacturing.... GTR the most incredible car in the world has to be protected at all cost!!!

  • better than any crappy porsche on road and track

  • For someone who didn't know: The Nissan GT-R is the successor of the Nissan Skyline, which we all know it's the legendary bonkers of Sports Car. And in this, the designers didn't put a not-so big engine in the bonnet (V6 Engine) because they know how to improve such engine can be as fast as.... well, as like Aston's V12 Vantage or more, for example. This car is pure Japanese.... well, helped by other country's Nissan Division, of course.

They know how to make a car like that for such a price :D

  • @orihalchon all that for under six figs it truly is a piece a engineering mastery.

  • @GalaxyTrigger82 completely agree.

  • I didn't know James can also speak HillBilly-accent like Jeremy does XD

  • My friend has one, so I had a chance to drive it. MY GOD, this thing is insane in every way!! Anyone who has a "before I die" list needs to put that car on it. You owe it t yourself to experience such brutal bonkers car!!!

  • so i have to wait to get a £100,000 a year job or be called a banker to get one of these....damn lol

  • Got to love james may <3

  • BMW M over this sushi rocket any day.

  • @rusty5100 I love bmw as well, but cmon... Give some credit here, amazing piece of engineering!

  • dear santa...

  • is tht automatic? 0.o

  • @kebanyas1794 paddle shift

  • @kebanyas1794 Semi Auto...so loss during shifts paddle shift that is

  • "even a bike isn't that fast". How bout you guys actually try it before saying sttuff like that??

  • @DoubleYouPee1 Cause your smart..

  • I must have this car or its successor after becoming an orthopedist. :D

  • @hunmmm You'll be able to buy several of these cars after being a surgeon for a a year.

  • Comment removed

  • lol! i'm thee 619999 viewver.

  • At least if Jeremy buys one it'll be more reliable than that Ford GT he bought.

  • look how slow he's pulling away at like 0:45 CAPTAINN SLOW!!!

  • Aventador Launch control system is better

  • Best..Job..Ever..

  • Someday Mr. GT-R, we will meet. It may be some years down the line, and you may be a little different than you are now, BUT, mark my words, WE WILL MEET. When we do, I will buy you, and drive the shit out of you. See you then, Mr. GT-R

  • @conn0r644 You know cars are usually referred as girls

  • @thlin Only if it's got a pussy....or is a pussy.

This car has/is no such thing.

  • i want it as well!!

  • 26 people are CORVETTE FANS

  • 3:55 i thought he was flipping everyone off

  • so many fanboys in here. lol

  • If the guy's from Top Gear like it. I like it too. Fuck the haters!

  • this isnt the 2012 GTR...

  • This guy's hilarious!

  • WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO GET THIS CAR??!!!!

  • @foxhounduk2k8 89,000 usd or up to 140,000 for a gtr tuned to the maximum potential.

  • Love it i cant believe this competes with corvettes lol although corvettes are cool they are not GTR

  • Bugatti what!?

  • Japanese Supercars are in their golden era... the GT-R and the LFA are two of the best production cars available. The GT-R is obviously a much better value.

  • Why is idiot James "shifting manually" in launch control?

  • @zurdo85XIX Because it's fun... Would you leave it in auto if you had the chance to launch one?

  • @squirlybmx Under some circumstances, yes. To achieve maximum acceleration in launch control mode for example.

  • 1:52

Miren este: Go Bandit GPS HD descenso san juan

  • For cars with paddle shifters, you can switch from using them or automatic right?

  • @lourke123 yes

  • @lourke123 I don't think the GT-R has an auto mode though. I'm pretty sure you always have to shift, just using the paddles.

  • @squirlybmx it has a auto mode bro

  • @LeonStark Which I said right after that comment.

  • @lourke123 Never mind, it does have an auto mode.

  • @lourke123 yes

  • Too many Ferrari and Lamborghini fans in the world. It kinda proves that they are overrated. This Nissan GT-R is simply just fantastic! :)

  • .....put that in comfort LOL

  • @joi2326 softer suspension is easier to launch I think.

  • @nihonkokusai

Yes, the car "roll" back and put more weight on the rear tyres.

  • @thomson765 every car has a soul in its own way. Sure, show up at random plave in hollywood and you wont be king. But show up at the track and you will understand what this car is about.

  • @asshatnowhere159 I absolutely agree with you, as i drive an ae86 myself. But I still think it's funny how no other manufacturer can beat nissan at this. They made this with the r32 "godzilla", and now again with the r35.

  • @BentleyWilkinson

    R32 - R34 is godzilla, R35 is like samurai

  • the new sports car standard of the world "GTR"

  • outperformed, not outclassed.

  • Hahahaha!!!! I didn't realize it was Jeremy at the end until waaaaaay after.

I thought it was the owner of the car or some producer talking to James..

  • hahahhaa im remembering how was james may blaming the GT-R in the GT-R vs Jaguar XK-RS video, and now he love it...

  • I've never been a big fan of japanese supercars (they all used to be souless, generic, copied, unfun, unglamorous, boring pieces of metal)

...but you gotta like this GT-R. Incredible machine considering its price

  • @nixxxon18 I loved the 90's Jap Supercars :) IMO, the only Ferrari from the 90s worth remembering is the 355. :D

  • @fcukugimmeausername huh... you forgot the F50 and the 360 modena...

  • @nixxxon18 360 was very average by all accounts (not that I'd say no to one!), F50 was good but so is every million dollar car.

  • @nixxxon18 The Supra and NSX are definitely not souless , Generic and copied pieces of unglamourous metal!

  • @adamY2K Ahahahhaha omg more bullshits pls !!

  • @nixxxon18 NSX, Skyline, S15 etc.= unfun ??? Wooowww... your out of your mind

  • @nixxxon18 ... Souless? generic? Copied? Unfun??? Wow.. You forgot the greatesr ones out there -_- Silvia S15, the R34 (which i would take ANYDAY over a GTR) The AE86 Trueno, the 240sx, The STI, EVO, Supra, RX7, 787B, Honda S2000, NSX, Integra Type R, Nissan Stagea, Celica. If they were all *boring* why are they the best known out there? The GTR isnt even a skyline. So its nothing great. If it was so amazing like you say, it wouldnt be in the US like the Silvia and the R34 and below.

  • @xXTonyToxiSaurXx Very few of those cars could really be considered "supercars." I mean, the AE86? Really? Super fun sports car I'm sure, but there are pickup trucks faster than that thing! To be a supercar, I think a car really has to have performance that is VERY significant for its time, and the R34 and NSX best meet that standard, with things like the Evo and RX-7 fairly close behind. The rest are just sweet sports cars in the realm of Porsche 944's and Neon SRT4's and things like that.

  • @JETZcorp I never called them super cars, i said the GTR is the only japanese supercar the US has. And by the way who cares about if a truck is faster then a AE86? I had a AE86 and took nomorous cars with it being stock. Honestly i could care less if its slower then a dodge ram or a chevy silverado. And tell me whens the last time you saw a AE86 or a RX7 on the road? Next time read threw the comment before typing what comes to your mind.

  • @xXTonyToxiSaurXx You were replying to someone talking about Japanese supercars being soulless, and you responded by pointing to a bunch of non-supercars. It's like someone saying American muscle cars are heavy and handle bad, and then saying "Nuh-uh, what about the Neon?" Even though no one said the Neon was a muscle car, it's implied.

And for what it's worth (probably not much), the last time I saw an RX7 on the road was a lot more recent than the last Silverado SS.

  • @JETZcorp I see SS's everywere down were i live, and Dosnt matter These cars arent normal cars, to alot of people they are super cars, not in the contex "exotic super cars" Just cars that have met the standards

  • @nixxxon18 Sorry but i think people agree, you know nothing about japanese cars. The GTR is the only Japanese super car that the US has.. So please look up info about japanse cars before you call them souless...

  • @nixxxon18 dont mix up japanese sports cars with your everyday shopping cart

All the examples posted below are far from souless, generic, copied, unfun, unglamorous and boring. Put the right work in then and you can eat supercars and exotics that cost skyhigh amounts of money and spit them out right away. and I mean on straights AND turns. btw that underdog character they deliver is their soul in my eyes

  • @nixxxon18

    haters gonna hate..

  • @nixxxon18 not all...honda NSX had the soul of Ayrton Senna in it, and mazda Rx7 is still unique

  • @nixxxon18

    @nixxxon

    Pssshhhhh,

Souless? What do you know about soul?

Is that why Italian cars break down so much?

Because "soul" is trying to get out?

  • @ManFuYi are you trying to give lessons about cars.... and you are american?? Fail! Unless you admit that american cars suck in 99% of cases

  • @ManFuYi It's true though, its an amazing machine. But if you've driven enough, you would know not everyone is going to choose a GTR over a simple RWD manual of equiverlant price. Sometimes it's just more fun to drive a silly big engine-ed RWD that breakdowns easier.

  • @quake63 Do you know that the 2012 GTR has a button which can make it a RWD any time.So you can enjoy the fierce acceleration and grip in the corners of a 4WD and have fun driving sideways in corners when converted into RWD. Isn't that GREAT!!

  • @wasif9ty3 what's that called again? Torque sequential or something?

  • @shinzantetsu Dont know!.But this car has it.

  • @shinzantetsu It's called torque vectoring.

  • @wasif9ty3 is that for real?????

  • @bmancodgta4 What,the RWD button??

  • @ManFuYi: Italian's think, that Design is everything. It is, but the Engine and therefore Electronics even more important. And that's why Pagani has an AMG Engine, trololol!

  • @ManFuYi

now you'll be happy with your 20 thumbs up ... you know what we are talking about when we say "soul"... and just because ferrari 458s set on fire doesn't mean that ALL italian cars break down.

  • @ManFuYi No.. Cuz it does everything for you. And the give-take relationship of the fear factor that allows one to get to "know" a car gets taken out of the 'equation' so to speak. Not that its bad thing tho, the fact that you'll do better lap times with a laptop instead of "ridin it on the top of ur lap" ;P

  • @ManFuYi Actually I think ur right on there man.. The soul IS trying to get out, know what I mean? ONTO the track depending on how YOU've dealt with it. Like the difference between the modern self-tuning guitars versus the classic Hendrix distuned flame-dance \m/!

  • @undeny sorry for the OVER capitalization.. Didn't mean to sound like drunk moron there man :P!

  • @ManFuYi It´s the enthusiasts justification for German and Japanese cars being superior to Italian ones.
