  • I'm no fan of the "Twilight"series. Trust me. But bear in in mind - if the fools hear this - while immersed in their teenage "drama" - maybe the light will reach them. So I'm all for it. No i'm not being optimistic. Its desperation speaking. Close your mind to hope, and the world ends. Its not, in fact its never, just "lameness" or "coolness" that is at stake. It is always the survival of intelligent life that is in peril. So bear always bear fools gladly. Or all hope is lost. You're no island.

  • Thumbs up if you found this after just watching The Big Bang Theory!

  • Good work! One of the best performances i have seen with the theremin.

  • Dude, great work! It's such a beautiful music piece!

  • WHOA!!!!!

Sweet and Weird at the same time!

    Pretty good overall though.

  • how the fuck can he play it without touching it??

  • awesome, Great harmony ......

  • It's a kind of magic. It made me cry.

  • Loved it, Love Clair de Lune and the Theremin good combo.

Do you think you could do Chopin Opus #9 No.2 with the Theremin?

  • Loved it, Love Clair de Lune and the Theremin good combo.

  • Anyone else think this sounds familiar to Moonlight On Granny's Face? Go listen to it, am I right?

  • I have a question.. For a poor person who can't afford the top quality theramin you have there, what is the next best thing? I'm commissioning a friend to build me a theramin, and we're trying to find something between $100 and $300..

  • um, I'm pretty sure it's 'Clair De La Lune'

  • @MinecraftIndy74 'clair de la lune' is a children's lullaby. This is 'clair de lune' by Debussy.

  • How to play this theremin? just moving your hand like that or what? pardon me because i know nothing much about music.

  • @MalizaEza It produces tones based on the distance it judges between itself and your hand. Certain shapes of your hand can also affect its voice.

  • That was my Mom's favorite song. I think she would have loved your rendition.

It brought a tear to my eye.

The Theremin is rarely played with that level of sensitivity.

  • This is by far my most favorite version of this song... Whenever I hear any other version of it, I can't but help compare it to this and find them lacking some emotion.

  • Ocean Eleven??

  • great stuff man...I'd love to hear this with just the theremin though

  • Wow. This was played with so much musical sensitivity.

    Colour me impressed. :)

  • Don't vibrato in the middle of the note. It gives a very nervous sound. This is something classical string instrumentalists learn.

  • @GLXLR Depending on the genre being performed, many vocalists prefer to start vibrato about one third of the way through a long note. Considering that the theremin sounds somewhere between a stringed instrument and a human voice, I suppose it could go either way.

  • @GLXLR this is news to me...

  • name of the instrument ?

  • @juggernautultimate theremin

  • This is the most precision I've seen yet in a theremin player. Absolutely beautiful. Great work!

  • A beautiful rendition of Clalir de Lune!! Randy George is becoming quite the artist on this instrument!

  • I'm inspired.

  • Fucking amazing.

  • mm hauntingly beautiful

  • sheldon

  • right... flight of the bumble bee BOOM GO!!!!!

  • surprisingly beautiful, that's it. thx @subtlemagic

  • This has to be one of the most bizarre things I have ever seen. And that is REALLY saying something.

  • theremim only? anything else?

  • I had my mind completely blown away. I'm a 19 yo guy who considers himself fairly tough and yet I couldn't help but to shed a tear for this absolutely beautiful rendition. Seriously, I'm completely in awe.

  • i could bet tha 100,000 views of this video are mine

  • ... Amazing

  • NINJUSTU!

  • can this machine cause skin cancer??

  • @lobitoldkx1 obviously

  • @lobitoldkx1 of course not. were did you get this from?

  • @FernandoH321 I tought it was like a cell phone, with electromagnetics waves and all that invisible shit.

  • i'm seriously thinking about buying one, this is so beatiful.

  • It's so beautiful... I'm putting this to my Favorites list.

  • I really love the whole performance. Sounds like a very innocent, calm version of the song. Every note is spot on. I just wish there was a bit more vibrato, but maybe that was your intent.

  • i cant belive people actually think this was created for twilight... HAVE YOU NEVER EVEN TAKEN A HIGH SCHOOL MUSIC CLASS?! maybe even middle school...

  • @karmacamillia Haha, i was tinkin EXACTLY the same!

    Btw, how beautiful isn't this?!

  • if you take the music off he looks like a retard :P

  • BRAVO !

  • ... Errr what is this?

  • The next closest thing to human vocals! AWESOME!

  • thumbs up if you got into ebay to see how much a theremin costs after watching this video...

  • Very well done!

  • Wow I am jealous. Great job!!!

  • So amazing.

  • Awesome. Just awesome. :-)

  • >calling pieces songs

  • @KSAzone

    Wikipedia/Google are your friends.

  • WHAT is this ??

    NEW device from APPLE???

  • @KSAzone It's called a theremin, and it's been around for nearly a century.

  • I thought there would be loud applause at the end !!

  • @bellztoll absolutely...tho i could hear the thunderous applause at the end !

  • very beautiful

  • when music sings ~

  • In the hands of a master.... everything can be beautiful.... greetings randy george! you are a real master

  • This was amazing but...it could use a giant exercise ball ko at the very end @_@

  • This song hasn't been this awesome since Gran Turismo 4 featured a version played on steel drums! :D

  • i understand the science behind the theremin, but so what: all i hear is otherworldly magic. thanks for sharing.

  • Sounds almost like a very good opera singer

  • is the backing track controlled by the theremin also?

  • At some points it almost sounds like an opera singer. Surprisingly beautiful.

  • Absolutely amazing

  • im gowing to SOUND stupied BUT HOW!! how does it work??

  • theremins are awesome, but i still dont understand how they work lol, ik the machine picks up your hand movements which then create the sound and such, but liek wtf lol still crazy to me

  • @EvilDead159 It's not hand movements, it's the distance from the antennas. If your hand is close enough to the antenna, you will get a sound even if your hand isn't moving.

  • 20 dislikes? Pffft.

  • check out those 20 deaf bastards >(

  • Its like musical sign language

  • The high tones sound almost likes someone is singing..

  • Oh look, a theremin that sounds good.

  • WONDERFULL

  • @eyeshighfly That's a cool idea, but I don't think the theremin works that way. XD

  • where can I find a cheap theremin with synth tone production?

  • GENIO!!!

  • Just beautiful. Thanks for sharing this.

  • :D

  • Fuck yeah! Almost as awesome as Isao Tomita's electronic version.

  • sooooo beautiful, this makes me think about a tiny fairy singing :D

  • Quite possibly the best theremin player in the world.

  • @uni4dfx

This guy is awesome, but damn, listen to Clara Rockmore...

  • I've never liked theremin but this guy is amazing.

  • Beautiful, keep up the good work!

  • This is so awesome to watch!

  • what causes a theremin to make noise if nothing is being touched? I'm so confused..

  • @Onash100 " The controlling section usually consists of two metal antennas which sense the position of the player's hands and control oscillators for frequency with one hand, and amplitude (volume) with the other, so it can be played without being touched." Check wikipedia ftw. I want one now.

  • @Fiendir Hell yea! If they weren't so expensive, I would get one. Although they are apparently hard to play.

  • what kind of instrument is this?

  • Buncha weenees

  • I want one!!!

  • mad props

  • fUCK YESS ive been wanting to know the name of this song forever iver heard it in so many animes

  • très joli j'adore, verry nice music

  • Magnificent! Brilliant! I just discovered the theremin two songs ago, and now I'm hooked.

  • Too many works performed by the Theremin will go overboard on the vibrato. Thank you for not doing this and maintaining the stillness of this wonderful piece.

  • this is really magnificent... I LOVE it!

  • Saw this thing on The Big Bang Theory last night. It was used as somewhat of a joke, but this is really nice.

  • yeah, I'm the 2222nd liker of this video. makes me feel a tiny little bit special :D

  • uuhh let us not forget the campfire scene in darjeeling limited! hahahaha

    beautiful song.

  • Is this guy the only person in the world who can actually make a theramin sound good? I think so..

  • Wow that was really beautiful.

  • Who cares where it's from or who has used it? It's an amazing composition, anyone arguing about such trivial things is another typical, uncultured, bonehead.

Just listen to the music and be happy it's there for you to listen to

  • Great song.. and no it is not from Twilight..(ugh)

it was however at the end of Ocean's 11 as they are standing in front of the Bellagio.

  • There's a lot ot theremin music on You Tube. THE best player is generally regarded to be Lydia Kavina (granddaughter of Leon Theremin) BUT, I think this guy is the best I ever heard.

  • 16 people think Clair de Lune came from Twilight.

  • @HeimdaIlr no... not again! first river flows in you and now clair de lune?! whats wrong with this people? T-T

  • @HeimdaIlr Clair de Lune is in Twilight? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I am now on a quest to destroy every copy of that movie in existence and erase the memory of it from the world. This wonderful song should not be associated with such a piece of trash.

  • @dragonfiremalus Now I now why my little sister listens to this song ALL THE TIME. And I thought she was actually developing musical taste...

  • @dragonfiremalus Godspeed...

  • i hate twilight. this is where the beauty lies. in the music. this music is not from a lame movie. it is from an amazing composer and played by a masterful musician

  • Beautiful

  • Twilight just uses the song for his movie.

    Debussy doen't live anymore.

  • Lindamente lindo !

  • bello

  • This is cool...but can you do it the other way around by switching your hands to the other part

  • thumbs up if you tried looking for the original post that PieceofMindmusic was talking about...

  • @toofattocare77 Clare de Lune was created in 1980 u stereotype American.

  • @kittyburger000 Debussy began work on the suite in 1890 and released it in 1905. Maybe you should check your facts before you try to call me an idiot and imply you are "better" than me you stereotype idiot.

  • @toofattocare77 SUCCESSFUL TROLL IS SUCCESSFUL. Don't cry because your comment was marked as spam stereotype American.

  • @kittyburger000 l2troll

  • I don't think I've ever heard a theremin sound so nuanced and beautiful. Amazing performance.

  • Incroyable!

  • Perfect!

  • Is he playing the piano with his feet?

  • 16 people are mad that they can't play the theremin as epically as this guy

  • @MrWiggiJ Clair de Lune is part of a suite that was composed in 1890 by Claude Debussy. It was not created for twilight...

  • @MrWiggiJ They used a recording of Clair de Lune in Twilight but it was not created for it. Debussy rocks.

  • @MrWiggiJ

PLEASE, THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT FROM TWILIGHT!!!! YES, THEY USE IT IN THE MOVIE, BUT IT'S BEEN AROUND FOR A LONG, LONG TIME!

  • @MrWiggiJ Not sure if trolling or just stupid. >_>

  • @ScOOb4St33vE Thank you sir for educating the absurdly ignorant. There should be more people like you in the world

  • @MrWiggiJ GAAAAAHHHH!! I JUST HAD THIS NIGHTMARE WHERE PEOPLE THOUGHT GREAT PIECES OF MUSIC CREATED HUNDREDS OF YEARS AGO WERE FOR POORLY ACTED AND PRODUCED TWEEN MOVIES..... good thing it was just a nightma- wait.... GAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

  • @Crurp Wait, did someone say this song was produced for a tween movie?

  • @MrWiggiJ well shithead, it was actually made many years ago...

  • how dose that box sing? can someone plz tell me how this insterment works? 0_o

  • @xneji7x It has to do with radio frequencies, its a bit like a bats sonar. The closer your hand gets, the higher pitch it is. For a full explanation, go here: *DOT*answerbag*DOT*com*SLASH*q_view*SLASH*423121

Replace the *DOT* with a period and the *SLASH* with a Posting restrictions

  • @PianoHero1994 ahh i see! thx,it really helped alot,im getting to really like it. :)

  • @xneji7x Yeah the theremin is a pretty sweet instrument :D I wanna get one :P

  • @PianoHero1994 I thought it was actually the electromagnetic waves passing between your hand and the capacitor inside the instrument, effectively making you part of the capacitor. I think it has nothing to do with radio waves at all.

  • @mangoismycat Well that may be another method of operation I guess. But I thought I read somewhere about radio waves. Oh well, I'm always learning new things every day :D

  • @mangoismycat radio waves are actually a form of electromagnetic wave, but the operation of the theremin has nothingto do with that. You're hand acts as a coupled capacitor to the capacitor in the theremin. The capacitance of theremin is determined by how far away you're hand is, which then controls the pitch and volume that is fed to the speaker.

  • @13om13e12 Yes, that's what I thought, I saw a Sixty symbols video about them, but I wasn't sure if I completely understood, thanks for that!

  • @13om13e12 it isn't a "form" it is exactly that.

  • Really Well Done!

  • James May's 20th Century :D

  • What sorcery is this???

Just kidding, I know what a theremin is. But it still looks like sorcery.

  • I was browsing some mario videogame music and then I found this... I don't exactly understand how that instrument works (I just googled it) but it sounds amazing

  • @RoseBleueDuRosierSec It's just the manipulation of magnetic signals, sort of similar to the pickups of an electric guitar, except instead of the vibrations from the strings creating the sound, its the motion of your hands. the left hand is the volume, and the right hand is the pitch.

  • @markfryer87 Thank you very much! Now I think that I understand it.
