In Europe we are focused on clean, technical play, while in the South referees tend to allow a fast and spectacular rugby. I read somewhere a SR player saying something like: "In Super 14 there are 3 catcalls: 1 for the beginning of the match, 1 for the half-time, and 1 for the end". South Africans players away just gets used to that.

Steyn feels that the Springbok coach is disrespectful to his club (Racing) and subsequently to Steyn's game, because he said something like "South Africans who play in Europe lack the speed to evolve in Springbok squad". Moreover, PDV is currently trying to bring Steyn home by enrolling him in Super 15 Lion.
