I haven't see the movie and i don't want to see it. But I am against FMG. It is against islam. I get really upset (and sick) to see that my beloved sisters and other women in the world experience this (horrible) culture habit.

@picklegirl191 You are almost right. Almost because yes, in Quran there is nothing about FGM, But still, FGM is popular in Islamic countries. Because Isam is conservative religion, and extremely focused on powering up men's rights.

I watched the movie for the first time tonight. It was really good :) The "mutilation" scene was too painful to watch. Waris seems very loveable. I hope FGM ends for good :(

This is so important--fate drew me to that bookstore and I saw her book. I knew, I was supposed to read her story. My life IS changed, she is so beautiful inside and out.. Things are going to start changing faster because she had the courage to be a voice for the voiceless. Thank you so much Dirie--a rolemodel, and a model to how we can overcome extreme pain and injustice--and use our precious life to bring awareness and help others. Thank you so much!

It was almost as if my story except I'm not circumcise my husband bought me the movie I did not stop crying. I was in London at 15 years old I found myself not working without papers I lived with strangers ... Now I am 18 years old 185cm 85B size 36.
