  • our hearts beat like thunder but we can't dance for sht.

  • This is great it makes me think of old times! I was really happy back than!! I LOVE this song. ;)

  • liquid american music

  • oh my gosh, at the end i think he is doing the Elaine Benes dance. search youtube for 'elaine's dance'

  • just a great song all there is 2 say

  • Great sound Why did he change???

  • Wishing I had a time machine, I'd go back to this memory right now...

  • wonderful memories...ss loved the eightys... such good times back then.

  • My very best memories are in 1982 and with "Nothin' Matters And What If It Did". Love to dance to that one.

  • Like what he does at 3:37 or so......you know what that says, music, rock n'roll

is fun. Early 80's look to it of course, cause that's when it was, but how bout that: comeon, give a great live performance, and enjoy yourself, with a real singer and a real band. Not a bad idea.

  • Wow, he was so young here, just a kid, but then again so was I!

  • Oh God he's sexy

  • This and Paper In Fire, Love it!...

  • @Kyteddy1...........not true bud.......he was John Cougar until 1982.......from 1983 to 1990 he was John Cougar Mellencamp......and from 1991 until now he is John Mellancamp.....so make sure you check facts before saying something is wrong......look it up on Wikepedia

  • You are correct. I saw him in concert in the fall of 82 as John Cougar. He was the "warm up" band for Heart. Met Center in Bloomington ,MN was packed with Cougar fans who went nuts when he was on stage & then sat down for Heart... His performance was raw and filled with profanities (chewed out security for taking their jobs "too Motherfuckin' seriously" when people rushed the stage). Saw him 2 years later in Minneapolis he had changed 180 deg. Name and attitude. Almost too boring...

  • @wholelottahoopin - I understand going crazy for Cougar but sitting down for Heart? Stange fans that night....

  • Exxxxxcellent video...but as JMFan06 said...it is NOT from 1982 but from 80 as John cougar....I seen him in concert in Indiana in 80 in his last concert as John Cougar then he changed his name to John Melloncamp afterwards!!!He has come a long way since them days...boogie ON John!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @kyteddy1 My husband use to go see him at Headliners in Madison Wisconsin. He'd spit into the crowd and was Awesome back then. I still like him, but not like in his early years. To political now

  • @TANYAWIS He has such talent, too bad he has to tell us what to do.

  • this is so good...i gotta get my guild out and play this for the old days----- rock on john cougar

  • As a vincennes U class of 86 Aluminus, I missed John Melloncamp by just a few years, before he made the big time. I bet old Dr. Summers, if he still lives, regrets kicking his most prominent and promising student out of VU.

  • Could he be any more adorable? This is great fun to watch.

  • too bad he didn't stay this cool.

  • @onedoo : I wonder what it is that made you say that..I think the oposite..

Finally a singer who had a future as a big idol, yet he decided to take it someplace else..

Coller than that,is hard to imagine

  • can I have that for Christmas??

  • yep too many good memories with this son.

    great song.

    class of 84

  • HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!

  • Such great memories!!!!

  • cool tune!

  • This is from 1980 or 81, not 1982.
