About a year ago I wanted to get a new pedal and tried out axis longboard, trick bigfoot and the demon drive.

The trick pedal is definetly not for everyone, I for once found it extremly uncomfortable to play since it's sooo big and sensitive.

I have the Pearl Deamon Drive but think it's too light for me. I had to buy xtra beaters with xtra weights to have it working the way I wanted them to.

@LukeSnyderMusic I love the pedal haha. Tama didn't lie about this pedal being fast and powerful. However, I'm not a big fan of chain drives, but this pedal ALMOST turned me on to them. I used to have a direct drive yamaha.

Luckily for me, this company called Stomp Drive made a retrofit direct drive for the speed cobra. They also make them for pearl powershifter elims, iron cobras, and mapex falcons!

@soundmind529 As I don't doubt that these might very well be the best for you. I took my time, though, when I got this set of pedals, and tried about everything I could get my hands on, and the Demon Drive was just the smoothest, and has the most responsive feel of the lot.

As with the Cobra Coil, I have that on the Iron Cobra's that I played for these past 2 years, and they just feel so un natural to me with them on, so I ended up taking them off to make the pedal have a normal feel.

only problem is the slave pedals allen screw comes loose in the slave bearing housing then the beater begins to wobble.

So, I think that the cobra coil just doesn't make sense on a chain (or belt, for that matter) drive pedal. A spring pushing the foot board back up would only work well on a direct drive pedal, cause then it'd actually effect the way that the pedals function as opposed to making the foot board just have a washier feel to them. And this is coming from someone who played on Iron Cobra's for the past 2 years, but recently switched to Demon Drives, cause they're just better, all around.

I was trying one out at my local Guitar Center and I noticed the slave pedal felt very.. different than the right side. I'm unsure if they just had a bad model out for display or if thats how it is.

Is yours like that at all? I'd like to get one but that slave pedal thing was driving me crazy.

@frogbeergolfgolf It was probably just their set up and they had something set wrong, like the tension cause when i tested it at my local store it was completely fine, and i bought it, and it's still amazing. Also one thing i did notice, there is no lag on the slave peddle, or none that i could notice. Was incredibly smooth and powerful.
