  • so this called Banzai

  • when radar man was told to forget, that is the sign white house knew and wanted war anyway.

  • @Rico8458

No it's not. Hope this helps.

  • LOL. That must have been the only footage in existence of Japanese soldiers cheering. I agree, it's a little "Monty Python".

  • The testimony of the radio operator / plotter - pretty damn good supports the idea that this attack was indeed known about and desired, as the legal reson to get properly in to the war.. cost some american lives, but did they care? the owners o the war industry got rich selling equipment to the state/the military, and the economy flipped in to in Turbo Mode. That is the whole Idea. Arabs, asians, latins, does not matter.

  • @Blodfjez

All it shows is a bit of inefficency and lack of preparatiuon for a war footing; every Allied power was caught off-guard by the war, and the US was no exception.

  • Damoosebelly, this is fabulous. Your whole site is, but especially this near forgotten documentary. Readily ignored is that the Holocaust was part of WWII and not the other way around. Had there not been aggressive war, no Holocaust would have occurred. The Japanese were likewise engaged in aggressive conquest of an entire continent.

  • teslagod2003 makes some good points. but you mix trade deals with money and that is probaly what jlnijholt was confused about. the british and the french wanted to make hitler economically dependant on them so he wouldn't go to war with them. they didn't relize that is exactly what hitler wanted. War to bring feed his ego and bring pride back to germany and get more living space for the pure race at the expense of the lower races.

  • Russia attacked poland and finland and the baltic states...you could say they started the war too...sort of. actually a lot of countries started the fucking war.

  • What the crap is that Banzai thing about? Some artistic choices do not age well at all.

  • @Lohen

One must be cautious about revisionism, most of the finest scholars of Pearl remain sceptics of FDRs complicity.

Gordon Prange's monumental -At Dawn We Slept- is a fine study of the Japanese plans, 20 years in the writing and with full help of the primary planners.

We as American tend to disregard other countries far too often and often think we are in full control of events, i.e., if the Japanese suceeded at Pearl, it was Americans that enabled it.

    Leading scholars think otherwise.

  • They forgot to mention how they rejoiced the same way every time.

Did Terry Gilliam have some part in the art direction of this series? I should wiki it and find out.

  • The cheering is awesome! campy goodness :)

  • lol i like the banzai clip every few :P yay!!!

  • FDR knew the Japanese were to attack but chose to do nothing so that the "infamy" could serve as a casus belli to declare war upon the axis. In fact all the modern ships of the pacific fleet (including the aircraft careers and modern destroyers) were coincidentally "in exercise" that day....

  • They stayed out of the war as long as possible. They only recieved warning a few hours before the attack, and the carriers hadn't been there days before.

  • @Wachetpower it was a definite sacrifise made by u.s.,coz they badly to go to war and they knew well that they can make more money out it,they also know that they can win the war,the problem is that many in us wants no war, thats y they hav to manipulate things n provoke a war...

  • @teslagod2003

They didn't provoke anything. Germany started the war and Japan attacked the US fearing it would join in the effort against them, seeing as they had been supplying the British. WWII has nothing to do with government manipulation in the US. Besides, you can't make money off a war unless you're supplying and not fighting. After the US joined the war, there was no money to be made that wasn't already lost. Also, no. They didn't ant another war after WWI.

  • @Wachetpower yes they dont want, but roosevelt want the war,tsk...

no money be made?where u getting your info?the brits, the russians, etc owed america alot of money already throughout the war,and they made no money?very funny...

    you're really misinformed...

    they didnt provoked?again,you're misinformed...

i guess you do believe all the crap n bs that the us n allied propaganda were making,tsk...

  • @teslagod2003

I get my information from historical facts and good schooling. It's not the 1940's anymore; there is no more propaganda relating to WWII. Let me ask you the same question. Where do you get your information? Is it that hard to believe that a war was fought with the goal of stopping something bad?

  • @Wachetpower i'm getting my info in the net,doc. movies,books n on school too...

its not 1940,yet u would see alot of propaganda made throughout the net,movies,tvs,etc...

no,the main reason the french n the brits made war with the germans is that the french n brits has lots of assets n income made from poland...

as far i saw in history, all wars were not made for the sake of good, the "good thing" is nothing more than a propaganda...

  • @teslagod2003

I'm not looking to get into an argument. You believe what you want to believe.

  • @teslagod2003 Another interesting "teslaviewpoint" with no basis in historical fact: Britain and France did not protest the "loss of assets" in Poland; however, they did protest the violation of Polands's borders, which is quite another matter.

  • @jlnijholt and it would be stupid of them to admit it,that's why they make other excuses,tsk...

and they did not protest at czech and austria?they cant coz hitler had gave them great deal of money not to interfere and france and england had little assets there compare to poland,tsk...

  • @teslagod2003 Hitler never gave the Allies "great deal of money"", what the hell are you going on about? You seem to ahve absolutely no diea what nonsense you are talking here. Do some source checking please..

  • @jlnijholt so you're telling me you never knew about the oil deals and other deals he had with britain and france before?britain and france did their best to help germany grow strong, they never anticipated that hitler would betray them, they taught it was all bussiness and trades, but hitler was only gaining their trust to be able to strike them when they dont expect it,tsk...

  • @teslagod2003 teslagod2003 makes some good points. but you mix trade deals with money and that is probaly what jlnijholt was confused about. the british and the french wanted to make hitler economically dependant on them so he wouldn't go to war with them. they didn't relize that is exactly what hitler wanted. War to feed his ego and bring pride back to germany and get more living space

  • @benjihero86 big mistake though,in the side of the the brits and the french, they may have forgotten that the treaty of versailles was just a ceasefire, and both sides know it well when they signed it,the problem was that france had so much internal problems while britain was much more concentrated on their commerce and trades, thus the brits and the french forgot that war is still on the way,it is just waiting for the right time and the right leaders...

  • @benjihero86 right for the german side but really bad for the the allies, where the brits just concentrated their army on the sea while the french on their magino line, where both failed to upgrade their battle tactics and army technology, where the germans had been upgrading theirs...

ever wondered why president hindenberg never stopped hitler after he saw his ability and what hitler can do on regaining german strenght and german morale...

  • @Lohengrin1941 i agree, the us govt just manipulated things,so they can enter the war n make theirselves more powerful n more wealthy, they were the only 1 who made alot of wealth in this war...

their war is not to save the world, but merely selfish desire...

  • Okay 8:50-9:10 was a little ridiculous.

  • couldnt agree more!

  • love the cheering though...absolutely love it..

  • Can you let it go?
