Obviously, today those graphics look like shit, but back in 2001, these graphics were the highest standard (Not too mention the gameplay) GTA IV is only 4 years old and the graphics of that game are crap now as well. Just look at the new GTA V trailer and compare it to the graphics of GTA IV. Gotta love technology

In my opinion Rockstar's gta-series is top notch. While I do agree that it may be over-hyped it doesn't make the series itself bad. Personally, I have bought GTA 1, GTA 2, GTA3, GTA: VC, GTA: SA, GTA LCS, GTA VCS, GTA IV, and GTA TBoGT, and the only gta game's that I really didn't have much quality to it was LCS and The Lost And Damned - even though that was an expansion.
