i hate to say it, but his voice sounds too similare to devendra banhart to go unnoticed. do you think this guy knows how much like devendra he sounds? you can tell he's putting it on as well, thats not his natural singing voice.

well, if you wanna get into numbers, Devandra's only a few years older in age, and though Nic's first full length was recent, Devandra's first was 2002. Neither of them could really be considered the other's protege or anything. Shit that comes out usually sounds like shit that came out around the same time anyway, thats just music's history

im always watching these indie spaces, some old some new, some i love i love some i dont......... but 2 things are always the same. The music is always an expression of freedom, in a world that supresses freedom. And many of the artists we watch in these spaces...... have as much regard for say the work of 50 cent as they do their biggest influences. All in the spirit of a world trying to be united in a spirit of indiniduality and the respect of that individuality.

So it always makes me wonder when I see 2 supposed indie fans, argue over issues of tastes call eachother idiots. I feel both the person who likes this band and the person who doesnt..... both have great individual taste in music. And i feel they can disagree with the integrity of there choices without being rude. To be honest the people below are why indie needs to exist at all.
