I will jump in here. 66 was the first year for Toronado. No suicide doors on these but some Toronado stretch limos and limo wagons have surfaced. You can google some images. These are aftermarket modifications and Olds was not responsible. Sorta like Olds 98 limos, ambulances, and hearses were made by a coach company called Covington Bevington.
My dad was an Oldsmobile guy. He owned a '55, '61, '63, '67, '68,- 88s. As far as cars that last? He traded every two years because the were getting too many miles... 50,000. Usually: unless you lived in AZ, the paint would start to bubble after only two years. They were great cars, but I'm not ready to go back just yet.
I don't think they will ever be cars like these ever again. Cars today are nothing but junk, and plastic bullshit. Those cars of the 50' 60' 70's were all american, and built to last.
Thanks, this is a nice Olds presentation. I have always loved the 1967 and 1968 Olds Ninety Eights since they were first introduced. I also like the beautiful photography layouts for the 1968 Olds ad campaign. These were great, solid American cars - not the plastic foreign and American cars they manufacture today - the new cars of today are strictly garbage from lowly Toyota all the way up to Cadillac and Mercedes today - computerized and plastic garbage.
When I was a little kid the man across the alley from where I lived had a Starfire. I remember him washing it. That was the car I wanted when I grew up.
I've had an Eighty Eight for the last 15 years. I never new they were related.
I miss the days when they made cars!! what are these plastic things they are putting out now? Plastic interiors..no character..plastic bumpers,,,sad ;-(
Something for most every Oldsmobile lover, thanks, the 1970 to 1972 clips will be something worth waiting for too! Must take a decent amount of time to put together!
Back then cars had class and character but now it's more about safety. You get Pro's and Con's on both sides. No matter what.

@928baller Safety and big grinning grilles, I never thought that cars would wind up looking like Pokemon.
