I attended Del Oro High's drum major and band leadership camps back in high school... At the time they were the band to beat... Never a mistake and such pride in their performances... This video is good but nothing like it used to be!

I encourage current D.O. band members to FIND & WATCH the VHS films of the band from '82-88: both field and parade routines. (Mr. Duncan has 'em SOMEWHERE in the band room! I hope ... for YOUR sakes!) You will watch in stunned amazement! These are were arguably the BEST yrs of the Golden Eagle Marching Band. You guys are good, but you COULD be truly great! Keep checking back on for these videos ... vintage D.O. Marching Band ... '82-88! Gotta see it to believe it! Insist on excellence!

i think a reason you didnt win no offense is you need more people. General Effect is easy with lots of people.

we practice every morning for 2 and 1/2 hours and then every Tuesday for 3 hours... percussion practice every thursday too for 3 hours and we have 12 hour practices on Saturdays sometimes... and we have a 5 day band camp the week before school and practice every tuesday in july... and i think thats pretty standard for most California schools

no definitely not... but we do place first in our devision and by the end of the season we achieve high 80s and low 90s. ya I've heard of them... they are pretty good... we normally beat them and it seems like they've lost numbers this year... and the sat. practices definitely are we get a lot done.. and its fun to spend a whole day with band friends

ughh college hashes are awful if you're not used to them... last year my band had a performance at a CC and our director forgot to tell us about them!
