@MrMacky1810 In-Jokes are VERY common. On Cagney and Lacey they liked to make Dirty Harry references. Daley AKA Lacey was Harry's partner in "The Enforcer". On "Murder She Wrote" Angela Lansbury once played her character's own cousin who was a singer in England and she sings the "Yellow Bird Song" from her first movie, the cult classic "The Picture of Dorian Gray". In another ep the actor who played Dorian gust-starred and at one point is admiring a painting of himself.

Téa Leoni (D.D.'s real-life wife) plays Scully in a bad movie based on a X-File and Scully tells Mulder she thinks Téa has the hots for him wherein he replies "Like I would have a shot with her." or words to that effect. In another ep Scully gets a tattoo of a snake eating itself which was the logo for "Millennium". Yet another ep written by Darin Morgan has a geek wearing a "Space: Above and Beyond" T-Shirt.

I'm surprised David hasn't asked Gillian to be one of his flings on Californication, thereby giving every X-Files fans what they wanted but outside the show itself, which would be an X-File in itself. Then they wake up and Gillian asks, "would you like a cup of Tea?" David looks at the camera and smiles!

Californication is sex therapy for David, he had sex once in nine seasons of the the X-Files, as Hollywood payback, his contract is to have sex in every episode of Californication.

I am a fan of The X-Files just like probably all of you here are. Unfortunately, I got lost with the story because I was not able to see all the episodes. It was aired in the Philippines at the time I was busy with my school works, internship and all. I am trying to catch up with the show now through internet but, I am presently in Yemen where the connections are bad. Damn!!! Anybody here knows where I ca buy a complete DVD of the show??? I need to catch up before XF3 is shown!!

It IS a big SP, isn't it? The way he puffed his face out, and his hair was longer. I think that's why it reminds us of that episode.

@ahrfb Well, I thought the same thing, so you're not exactly alone. I must admit I was shocked that this was one of only two comments about that, though. There's the obvious "f-ing FBI agent" line, plus "brooding and comely" from Bree Sharp's song, "David Duchovny", plus the Eddie van Blundht reference. It takes a truly devoted fan to recognize all those references. I'm proud to say I'm one of them. :)
