I commented that they were lesbos, and to take offense to that is illogical in my opinon, due to the circumstance. When you cannot clearly label someone without prejudice, because it breaks the norm, then whatever logical label you conclude shouldn't be considered insulting. I think of labels in a different regard than most. I used to put value in them, and should be more careful to not assume others do not as well. Anothers orientation is not anyone else's business, and I don't actually care at all.

While I agree with all of this, I feel it's important to point out that while legal equality is very important, it's certainly not the worst LGBT people face. We face the threat of legislation that legalizes our genocide, homelessness, and a constantly rising rate of physical assault. In fact, the statistics show that lighting LGBT people on fire is quickly becoming the preferred methods of killing us.
We have more at stake than just legal rights and civil liberties.

I'm also from the south and I'm for gay rights unlike a lot of people in my area and its sad people try to justify the way gays are being treated by saying that they didn't go through the same thing as blacks. I do consider the amount by which someone has suffered or is suffering to be relevant. Not in that the lesser suffering doesn't matter, but that the greater suffering is a more pressing issue.
To put it another way, gays deserve rights. But if another group has less rights than gays do at the moment (for example, zoophiles), I will spend more time working for that group rather than the group which is not currently in as dire straights at the moment.

No. The difference between homosexuals and zoophiles is that we're talking about legal consenting adults here in the case of homosexuality. A dog, cat, or goldfish cannot give legal consent and does not have legal standing to begin with, thus it falls into the category of ABUSE. So homosexuality prevails, zoophiles fail.
