  • After listening to many of the comments here, this is what the international kirby de la creamie de la lamenta inclusa internationale' has to say: this is very good.

  • Translation of Latin Language Part 2 ---------. You ought to have understanding I will you ought to in it many wretched calamity, you have your back saputo Where are you from hindering the happiness of the land of the pus from the time you are wise PAST him than they were cadeveris of infinity.

  • @tazmaster500 lol Google Translate! Saputo is not a word in latin, my friend.

  • @rocker278 I Never Said i Knew the Language I went Google Translate Yes. Thought it will help viewers Understand.

  • Translation of Latin Language Part one -----The Philosopher's Stone The stone was red, the stone what sacrifices you want to connect with happiness You ought to have understanding I will much misery there, you ought to back your good fortune of calamity you have saputo Where are you from hindering the the land of the pus from the time you are wise PAST him than they were cadeveris of infinity.

  • The Philosopher's Stone. The stone was red, the stone what sacrifices you want to connect with happiness You ought to have understanding of misery there, you ought to back your good fortune of calamity. Where are you from hindering the the land of the pus from the time past than they were cadeveris of infinity. You ought to have understanding. Where are you from hindering the happiness of the land of the from the time you were wise PAST him than they were cadeveris of infinity.

  • As the gate opens and swallows the souls of everyone in the country

  • Latin is a freaking cool language =D Especially for music like this ^_^

  • This sounds like something you'd hear in a waltz or something.

  • "Philosophers' stone." Do they not mean "Lapis philosophorῑ" (Philosopher's stone)?

  • WHY DO ALL (almost) BROTHERHOOD SONGS MAKE ME WANNA CRY???? TT^TT

    meowgirlX3

  • @flamealchemist251 and Lanayru19: the young grow old from the start. It helps us accept life and move on, but we should enjoy our youth while we can. PS: I'm 15.5

  • Best. BGM. Ever.

  • Download link please. This song fills me with memories of my youth...which wasn;t long ago, but i'm 16 going on 70 internally, so help!!!

  • @Lanayru19 whoa me too !!!!

  • Latin = Reaches your heart whenever you hear it.. :(

  • latin isnt deadalot of words in english french german and irish are of latin origin

  • LONG LIVE OMINOUS LATIN CHANTING!!!

  • Why does everyone keep saying that Latin is a dead language? Confused, considering that the entire Vatican speaks latin.

  • @Damon242 The Vatican's official languages are Italian and Latin but Latin isn't really spoken outside official Church business. Most people speak Italian, some German, or French.

When someone says a language is "dead" it means its not spoken in a casual setting. It's no one's "first language" but its still used in music, art, study, etc.

But Latin is the "least dead" of all the "dead" languages.. if that makes sense :p

  • @MouseCheese2010 in lamens terms its the zombie lauguage

  • @Damon242 I'm pretty sure the Cardinals and Pope in theVatican speaks Italian, they may have some prayers in Latin, but I've been to Italy and Vatican City and they don't speak ancient Latin like this song there there.

  • @MrAmericann The cardinals and pope, as well as the general clergy, are meant to know latin.

The priests at the Catholic school I went to were teaching us latin in preparation for our trip to the vatican city. Unfortunately, we didn't get to go, but obviously we needed to know the language for a reason.

  • Well, if I think of it, Latin isn't "dead" language - it's rather "fossilized" I think.

  • This always reminds me of the badass line Ed said in the first episode: "You know, there are some lines that you shouldn't cross." Then he ends up kicking the Ice Alchemist's ass all the way back to his momma.

  • that was the translation i posted

  • The Philosopher's Stone The stone was red, the stone what sacrifices you want to connect with happiness You ought to have understanding I will much misery there, you ought to back your good fortune of calamity you have Where are you from hindering the the land of the from the time you are wise past him than they were cadeveris of infinity.

  • Latin is far from dead...

The nationwide transmution circle-scene was one of the best parts in an episode in any series of all time.

  • Comment removed

  • And they say Latin is a dead language.\

Come to think of, they should make Zombies speak Latin in zombie movies.

  • @Virginityrocks best idea ever

i think this would be the first time i would enjoy a zombie movie

  • @Virginityrocks "Dead" doesn't necessarily mean no one speaks it at all. It only means that it's not as widely spoken as once it was. Notice that we still refer to animals, plants, and other things by their Latin names.

  • @lovemustdie Latin is an undead language.

  • @Virginityrocks Indeed! :D

  • @Virginityrocks A dead language is a language no one speaks with others.. or a civilization uses.. Are you satisfied?

  • @Virginityrocks ikr XD

  • @Virginityrocks is this latin?

  • @bawan44 yes postclassical latin

  • @Virginityrocks they did in hellboy

  • @Virginityrocks Boo...

  • This is the best song I have heared

  • @Sharkonus Heared.

  • The three people that don't like this don't know what music is.

  • @MelloKiraEru: i bet they are justin bieber fans

  • @jo5674

    You got that right.

  • @MelloKiraEru Your respect for the opinions of others makes me want to transmute your ears off, then transmute all memories of all music you've heard in your life out of your brain.

  • @KyonGivesYouFacepalm

No need to take things so seriously.

    ಠ.ಠ

  • @MelloKiraEru Nah they just wanted you to talk about them.

  • @MelloKiraEru Makes that five. Oh and the people that hate FMA, May NEVER know the consequences of alchemy. If they study JUST how to transmute, it will do nothing. Only a shining light will appear. Creating a flare of shadows. Well that's all I have to say about alchemy. x3

  • this translation I got off the internet, I would use my own but its really bad

Stone of Philosophers, stone of red, stone of immeasurable sacrifice, see the beginning of happiness

You, who ought to be wise, ought to be there to accept the multitude of suffering in your unfortunate past to discover happiness

Where are you, trapped land from the past. You, who are wise, ought to be there to accept the multitude of suffering in your unfotrunate past to discover happiness.

  • @TheLoneWolf1921 where are you, trapped land from the past. See the dead, see if it renews your desires.

You, who are wise, who has seen the red blood of arm and leg

Stone of philosophers, stone of red, how many more things will you affect

  • There's another song in the soundtrack that uses a choir with latin lyrics, which was played during the episode with Nina and Tucker. What was the name of it?

  • national circle active =']

  • If there was going to be a Dissidia: Final Fantasy 2, for secret characters, I'd recommend Father (FMA) for Chaos and Sora (KH) for Cosmos!

  • @MrWerehog22

That will never happen. FF Dissidia was a love letter to FINAL FANTASY fans, NOT FMA fans. Sora is a KH character... Why would he even need to be in there. Let alone him being Cosmos.

  • GREED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ):

  • OMFG I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS SONG FOR EVER!!!!! I can't believe I finally found it... I must've listened to every song on the first two OSTs and then finally found this one.

  • The music for brotherhood is so beautiful

  • Can someone pls send me a download link or just send me this song. It's just so epic I cant get it out of my head. I need to have this. pls help :P

  • Beautiful Music!

  • epic song ever ive search this for long time thank you buy it from amazon

  • Very bad amateur translation (13 years since basic Latin):

Philosphers' Stone, Red Stone, Great Stone

You wish a sacrifice to obtain happiness

Your past woe, past penalty understands you are responsible for what is owed there

Misfortune will have a lucky new wine

Where from past necessity you are impeded and consumed by your country

understand how there is a limitless extent of corpses, past, present, and future*

(*the 'past, present, future' is implied from the imperfect form of 'to be')

  • (last part):

Consider who should die, consider anew regret for loss

You will understand, you will manage to uphold the briar of arms, feet, and blood

Philosopher's Stone, Red Stone, how much is this thing desired?

Yes, it's very badly done, some (most?) of the declensions and conjugations are misapplied, and a good number of alternate definitions are misconstrued (as in a noun or verb can often have several different meanings, and I picked the wrong one). Feel free to mock my failed effort.

  • I should point out, I didn't exactly expend the same amount of effort on each phrase, some words got BSed through entirely ('caputo' comes to mind), and some phrases are butchered because I couldn't find a way (at least, after a minute or two of thinking) to express the literal meaning in English without making the phrasing sound horrible (I remember ignoring an 'ibi' for that reason).

Still, after over a decade, it was fun to toy with a language I had only rudimentary usage of even back then.

  • @aswallom But it's a start, and we need one.

  • Whats the song when the anime reveals what Mustang did with Ross in terms of the flashback of burning the dummy? That was epic stuff!

  • I'm so stupid, I actually had to ask my parent's what Philospher meant. and in her translation, it meant Looker, so I'm like "Looker's stone?"

  • Updated translation:

Philosopher’s stone, red stone, rock you like a great sacrifice,

    happiness misleading

    Continued below...

  • You must have taste, you must, here you keep in the back,

the many misfortunes of your disaster, happiness misleading

Where are you, you trap, you’ll have a taste for this man,

made this time of the land before the corpses are innumerable.

Delusions, illusions if you died you taste this desire,

you’ll see the scarlet blood of the arm and foot,

Philosopher’s stone, red stone, how do I approach these things …? Philosopher’s stone, red stone, how do I approach these things …?

  • Brilliant soundtrack

  • This song never really had much importance to me until I saw episode 60, where [..spoilertext..]. Yeah, i was all like HOLY CRAP

  • @xXTheWhiteSheepXx Yep ep.60 is no longer the crap hitting the fan, it is the crap burying the fan so deep, it's crushed by the sheer amount, then the entire mass is compressed, lit on fire, and burried again.

  • @crusnik4000 GIANT DOORS :D

  • @crusnik4000 Well said, good sir.

Say, you sound like a Troper, do you frequent Tvtropes? that sounded like their tongue-in-cheek writing style, i thought it'd be familiar

  • @xXTheWhiteSheepXx as a matter of fact, I do visit, although I don't submit anything usually. I have read enough of them though that I actually start talking like it sometimes and use trope names in everyday conversation.

  • @crusnik4000 you're just like me, like i do EXACTLY everything like you just described.

  • fantastico OST

    que gran pomposicion

    de fma

  • It sounds kinda like roxas's theme at the start

  • What is this from? A Cartoon? It's beautiful....

  • @Wivanunu its from Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood..if you haven't seen it I would highly advise you watch it, its amazingg

  • @alchemistofsins at first i thought it was worse then the older version.. later i found only the ebginning was lamer, the second half was so foking much better

  • @lycan156 some animes do that but if your willing to get passed the boring or lame part some tend to get better ^_^

  • This anime has such an amazing OST

  • This is so good. Probably the best soundtrack ever!

  • Lapis Philosophorum lyrics -------------------------- Lapis philosophorum lapis ruber lapis quantus sacrificum vis caputo felicitas Debes sapio debes ibi multa miseria tua retro calamitatis habes saputo felicitas Ubi es inpedis terra e tem pus anteactus sapies eo quam erant cadeveris infinitatis. Debes sapio debes ibi multa miseri tua retro calamitatis habes saputo felicitas Ubi es inpedis terra e tem pus anteactus sapies eo quam erant cadeveris infinitatis.
  • Where are you, trap you, you have a taste for the man, made this time of the land before there are countless corpses illusions if you died you tasted this desire, you'll see the crimson blood of the arm and foot Philosopher's stone, red stone, how do I approach these things?

  • @NoogahOogah I trust you got it :) take care

  • @NoogahOogah that last bit, "red stone, how do i aproach these things".. shouldn't that be "red stone like a ruby, im willing to give evrything for it" ???

  • @lycan156 I don't believe that final line is the same way, but I didn't even make the translation. Ruber is simply red in Latin, it wouldn't be a comparison.

  • @NoogahOogah ruber means red yes, but lapis is an affecting word, lapis ruber is supposed to be a single word meaning ruby, or red gem

  • @lycan156 Well, that's in the translation: red stone. I guess red gem or ruby would also do fine too, yes.

  • @NoogahOogah is this the translation?

  • @redzoro92 It is, but check out my updated translation on page two, and aswallom's own translation on page two.

  • @NoogahOogah

Do you know Latin? If so - when did you learn and where exactly do you live?

  • @ImmortalSpecies I didn't make the translation. It took some hefty googling at the time though ;) Now there is a much easier to find version. Anyways, where I live is unimportant.

  • @NoogahOogah

Ahh don't misunderstand, I was just curious - not many knows the language in my country :D.

  • philosopher's stone, red stone, stone you like a sacrifice, "misleading happiness" You have to have taste, you must, here you keep in the back, the many misfortunes of your disasters, misleading happiness Where are you, trap you, you have a taste for the man, made this time of the land before there are countless corpses You have to have taste, you must, here you keep in the back, the many misfortunes of your disasters, misleading happiness

  • @purplecowadoom What does that mean? I only know about a quarter of a half of what that means. x3

  • @Bleachie100 Beats me. After I found the lyrics, I put them through a Latin to English translator, and it couldn't make heads or tails out of half of it either!

  • @purplecowadoom Try to remember that it is not just latin.

It is latin, written by a Japanese speaker.

Japan's way of speaking is very backwards to english, in how sentences are structured, partially because (unlike english) it does not share it's language roots with latin.

  • @Goatmon Right. Isn't a lot of the Japanese language taken from Chinese? I know the Kanji part is. And Chinese isn't based on ANYTHING. Probably why it's so messed up. People over there couldn't make up their minds about what character to draw for a single thing, so they just drew all of them and told people to use whatever they felt like using. Way to confuse people!

  • @purplecowadoom chinese is based on drawing of a picture of the object and then nulify that picture to as few lines as possible

  • @lycan156 I know. But knowing that doesn't help me understand it any better!

  • @purplecowadoom wat language is this?

  • @sabunacon This isn't even worth a response but I, being the wonderful person I am, realize you probably lost your marbles out in your yard somewhere when you thought to post this, so I'll humor you by saying this: Look up doofis.

  • @purplecowadoom And by up I mean down. I really want to hunt down the people who decided youtube needed to be "fixed" and "fix" them a bit.

  • @sabunacon Latin

  • Zamzar is a good conversion website. You just need the video link and your email :) so if anyone is looking for this mp3, that's an easy way to get it.

  • Or just buy the ost, its not that expensive oO

  • Anybody got the Lyrics?

  • Warsaw Philharmonic Choir - Lapis Philosophorum

  • <3 j'adore

  • Where'd you download this from?~ Do you know where to download the OST?

  • just ggogle search "Youtube to Mp3 Download" and u could just find the song u like from the video and upload it as a song

  • @emax05 You can probably get it one Amazon.

  • Превосходный !
