  • very sweet sounding jazz .......yu guys are cool .....

  • What is your set up Tenor Sax guy? Please respond...Cheers! I dig your tone...reminds me of Dexter Gordon/John Coltrane

  • @MrJazzfingers

It was recorded on four track Roland R-44, direct input tp pre-amp. Microphone is Russian made Oktava 52-01 ribbon.

  • @ptmn4451 kl...but i meant your sax set up lol thanks

  • Seriously GREAT solos...god the sax tone was awesome, also the quoting of the head in the piano solo was great :D im playing this for an audition so its great to get different perspectives

  • The sound...

  • everyone good use of melodic sequencing, (repition and paralelism) now thats soloing like a composer! lol

  • hey, what are the changes to this? thanks a lot, you sound great

  • @FightingTheWitness concert key (where /=measure change)

    Cmaj7 / Cmaj7/ F-7/ Bb7

    Cmaj7 / Cmaj7/ Bb-7/ Eb7

    Abmaj7/ A-7/ D7/ D-7 G7/Cmaj Eb7/ Ab7 Db7

  • @greati9 isn't the Abmaj7 two bars? thats what's in the real book at least

  • The sax tone is great!

  • Beautiful!!!!

I'm a sax and flute player and I'm beginning to study this piece.

I'll study what you played because you really played beautiful.

The other members of the band are just great too!!!

Keep up the videos and that lovely music.

  • Clean.

  • sax tone is great. band is awesome!

  • Great tone on the sax. All great I hear timing is everything in bee bop. It's a feel very hard to get if you've played other styles a lot cuz it's a major committment. sax good use of 4ths and that makes it modern I like a little atonality in bee bop

  • Really good! Hot piano! (Seems the drummer had plenty on his hands, sticks, video camera, etc)

  • nice... turn them drums up!

  • Nice. The piano solo was very well done, melodically as well as rhythmically. Tenor played a few lines which reminded me of Brecker.

  • This sounds excellent, and the piano solo is super hot, as good as anything I've ever heard.

  • Oh man, this is just damn amazing. What a great grove the rhythm section had set up. Piano player is absolutely fantastic, that major sixth ragtime feel you went into was brilliant in the middle of your solo. Just brilliant.

  • Wonderful Tad Dameron,,Alaska is fab. Better than...

  • Very nice music, especially the sax. Obviously it would have been nicer if the drummer was in the picture also. Thanks for posting this.

  • ahh. the '4th man' was the drummer, dubbed later. Difficult, but done with all good intentions. :-)

    signed, 'the drummer'.

  • Awesome :D!! But where is the 4th man of the "quartet" ? Or am I blind..

    still Nice :)

  • hey sounding very good and i don't mean to be a dick and say this because the sax player is awesome, but his solo was mainly quavers (i think they are called 16th notes in america? i'm not sure) anyway it just got a bit old. But still you are awesome, brilliant tone, articulation, timing and ideas, not saying that i can play better at all.

  • Quavers are eighth notes. I agree that it was mostly eighth notes, but I tend to like laid-back solos like that on this tune.

  • Jazz is a quaver orientated form of music.. Personally I think he is utilising the key changes and creating some very creative melodies using quavers.. anyways. why can't we see the drummer in this video?

  • Dude! This guy was my piano teacher in middle school!!

  • This guy has great tone , nice playing. They where a little of time in the beginning , could just be the sound though. Nice playing

  • Hey Jeff, Sounds great! Thanks guys, made my morning better!
