I watch this video everyday because I miss Disneyland so much! And one of my favorite parts about Disneyland is the excited and giddy feeling you get from riding the monorail!
I'm not sure.... I remember once when I was just a little boy.... we went there all day and all night. I believe it opened at 8 am. the year was around 1993. We got there at 7 and we left at 1:00AM when they kicked everyone out of main street. (Back before we could afford passes.)
so really what is it that is captivating? I feel like a young kid that just can't wait when I hear this announcer. why is disneyland so different? why do I and millions of others just want to go all the time?
I wish they would sell two "retired" trains to us in Seattle as we have the original 1962 Alweg trains from the Worlds Fair- they are "retro cool" and all, but, they were suppose to be temporary and upgraded after the fair and have been running daily for 50 years!! About time for some newer, fancier ones! LOVE the new Mark VII version pictured here! They would look awesome whipping into the station at the base of the Space Needle!!
@sideslide23 Siemens used slave labour during the Holocaust to build the gas chambers that would later kill those same slaves. I am not making this up. Do your research, and do not deny history, unpleasant as it is, or that Siemens actively and knowingly contributed to crimes against humanity. They might make great transportation equipment now, but their past is bloody and decorated with swastikas.
When its like 7 in the morning and i get in the monorail with my family and i hear that announcer, I always get so excited. Its like I get this bubbly feeling in my chest and feel all like 'Oh my god, I'm in Disneyland. Nothing's gonna stop me now.' I cannot stop smiling and bouncing in my seat because I just feel so giddy because I'm on the the express way to the happiest place on earth.
Wow, the panoramic view from the front of the monorail is so much better than being in the regular seats! Note: Rode it yesterday and it stalled 3X in random places. Had to wait a few minutes each time for them to "reboot the system".
Disneyland cannot compare with Walt Disney World. Yes, California Adventure has World of Color (Disney's best nighttime show yet). And yes, some might argue that Tower of Terror is better in Disneyland because it drops you much more. Pirates of the Caribbean is honestly better too because it holds many more sets (especially in the beginning). But, Disneyland has two amazing parks and Disney World has four. Disney World encompasses miles of open Florida ground, while Disneyland is constricted.
@sanebear68 Whatever you say, nothing will beat the Disneyland Railroad. When I was a kid, I remember going to Disneyland every weekend just to ride it and maybe one other ride. Disney World is fun, sure, but you definitely can't knock out the whole thing in a day.
@sanebear68 its constricted for a reason. if disney bought more land before the surrounding area became occupied with residential and commercial zones, disneyland would be a lot bigger than it is now. sure disneyworld may be more wide open and might have more to offer, but sometimes, there is just too much to offer and not all can be done in a week. honestly, i would prefer a tighter space because i find the density interesting and easy to live with and you can do a lot in a week at disneyland.
What freaks me out more than anything is how much that concrete rail vibrates. You can see the spotlights by the Matterhorn shaking like a leaf a LONG way before the trains ever approach!
@TheLoveliestgirl disneyland may be the original, but it is far to small. disney world is a lot bigger then disneyland, and it also has so much more to to offer the visitors.
@mmcclain88 my only problem with disneyworld: its always raining so i usually cant ride rides like splash mountain or kali river rapids or big thunder mountain railroad when the rain starts pouring not to mention fastpasses are less available at disneyworld than they are at disneyland. unlike any park in disneyworld, disneyland's fastpass supply doesnt get exhausted whenever there is a huge crowd plus on a hot day which is like 100 degrees out in sunny southern california water rides are perfect
Disneyland Monorails you can still sit in the front, but the Disney World Monorails due to the accident that occurred last year they have temporarly suspended it, and no one is allowed to sit up front with the pilot.
When Las Vegas built their monorail they used some of the retired Disney World monorails before they got their own. Bush Gardens Williamsburg had one for awhile of a different style. And everyone who goes to Disney WOrld knows about the one in the airport.
i am soo scared to ride it! where dose it take u? and will i be able to get back to disneyland? do i show my disney pass port if i get ooff and then on to go to disneyland???......ia m 12 and idk what to do when i ride it so i sigh and tell my self nbext time
@TheDISNEY365 the trains only go around the park grounds, If you get on in tommorowland you can just stay on the train and it will drop you off back in Tommorowland, you can get off at Downtown DIsney station, get your hand stamped walk around the shopping area and still re-enter the station to go back into the park.

At least these trains paint schemes are reminiscent of the classic monorails, I hated the last sets of all white trains, they were so dull looking.
