  • i get 5 euro per hour :(

  • My comments Part 1:

Disgust and nausea is all I can feel having heard the corporate-line comments by Silverman, Fink and Lee. Could they have expressed themselves any better as illogical sycophants to the corrupt US music business that destroys diversity and promotes parasitism of artists for the sake of lining executive's pockets?

Parts 2, 3 and 4 of my comments can be found after video #9 and at the end of this series.

  • oh one more thing: most if not all small business owners go without those benefits that he mentioned. most of the time small business owners have to make heavy sacrifices when they're starting out, and if they're lucky their business will gain momentum and they'll be able to start granting fancy benefits to their employees and to their own families. if you want paid vacation and salary and all that jazz then get a degree and a desk job. although even there you'll be lucky to find job security.

  • ...i would kill for 17 bucks an hour and 3 months of guaranteed work.

  • I love how hes all like.. " hey I'm from Cincinnati too.. goooo figure.. we're so cool.. so... yes I'm right because I'm a buckeye!" way to play the judges budd-ay!

  • Mr. Lee indicates that artists are small businesses like Internet Broadcasters, and count on the modest royalties. Hopefully he will understand when Webcasters charge those artist a modest fee as a promotional fee.

  • He mentions session musicians, but they are usually paid for the session, and nothing more, hence the name. Let alone these royalties go primarily to the copyright holder, which is most commonly the label. Another funny note for everyone, the fees to collect these royalties come directly out of the artist's cut, not the copyright holders. Think about that when you consider these douchebags.

  • First, for clarification, this guy is a the head of a UNION... 'nuff said. Second, if I were a songwriter, I would be INSULTED; without the music to play, the musicians have nothing to play! The same argument is being used against webcasters. Everything he said, take out "musician" and put in "webcaster"... his statements are true for both groups. Most webcasters will never be houshold names, will never get rich, will never be able to quit their day jobs. Most webcasters work VERY hard.

  • At least Mr. Lee had to admit that small commercial Webcasters are in a unique position and therefore do require royalty rates and terms separate from the CRB ruling.
