  • I remember listening to Kashifs song back in the mid 80's. Cruising New York in our Cadillacs, hitting the clubs and having fun. These songs bring back memories. Thanks for posting if. Kashif, you are the man. You made a lot of great music.

  • This is a classics, remind me when I was a teenager in the 80's...so much music, so much fun...thanks for posting.....smile

  • this is the purest, most natural classic form of r&b ever.the 70's-mid 90's will never be duplicated ever again. this is when being smooth, well dressed, respecting the ladies, adults, the law, going to great clubs and just having a great time was in. where in the hell did this music go?with the exception of a few artist today,r&b has turned into pure shit.shitty beats, shitty lyrics,& autotune has destroyed music and helps cover up all today's horrible singing.i would'nt trade the 70's-90's in 4 shit.

  • Funny, funny comment about American Idol. I was jamming to Kashif in the 80's. The young kids need to be educated about the musical past. This is sure bringing back some fine memories.

  • I remember i was 19yrs old and in the Marines. I was overseas in Okinawa, Japan. I bought this cassette at the PX ,and listened to the whole cassette on those big azz walkmans from back in the day. The whole cassette was filled with Kashif jams. I miss the good ole days. Thanks for the memories.

  • @Oldskool1025 I was in Schweinfurt Germany when this album came out. LOL the big boomboxes& the walkmans had just come out. My husband who was my boyfriend then bought me a Sony walkman & it was state of the art! All our music was bought in the AV (audiovisual) club on post. If you bought the cassettes off post then you ended up w/ the German or European versions which could be very different. I am like you in this music brings back good memories of great times yup the good ole days :)

  • I cant stop listening to this song!! Who doesnt love Kashif?

  • American Idol, WOW....! are you kidding ? This guy is resposible for Kenny G, Melba Moore, Lilo Thomas, Freddie Jacksons career, He taught Kenny how to write music, which he will never admit it, Along with others that I didnt mention.

Try "Send me your love" and listen to the background, you will hear all mentioned.

  • This is real music!!!!!!!

  • i really miss these kinda music :( someone need to revive these kinda music back on the scene

  • @s1ns4n3 Yeah! And the haircuts too lol!

  • Master of the Moog....Unbelievable...if you don't know what a Moog is, go to Wikipedia...

  • he produced kenny G's ffirst album. thats kenny on sax.

  • @95tahoe1 Damn. He produced Kenny G's first album? Well, hell, we all make mistakes, so we can forgive Kashif for that.

  • live version 2010 here

    watch?v=VI3XD1EqYd8

  • I'm confused. There's another Kashif song I found on Yahoo entitled "Say Something Love", but this isn't it. It starts with talking: "I like working in the dark.....Have you heard the latest word.....", and in the chorus, "no more, no more,......". Anyone know the name of it?

  • @chalomirof63

    that song is called rumors

    and from the same album

  • @ArchieGe Thanks very much; y'know, right after I posted my comment, I did some research and finally found it! "Yahoo" had posted the wrong title under the sample bit! Thanks again.

  • @chalomirof63 yeah it is call "rumors of love"

  • @myzulutv Thanks very much; y'know, right after I posted my comment, I did some research and finally found it! "Yahoo" had posted the wrong title under the sample bit! Thanks again. (I posted this comment under "ArchieGe" by mistake!! LOL).

  • @chalomirof63 Rumors

  • @Karakane27 Thanks very much - I LOVE that one!

  • Wow...He's so on fire. I love this guy's stuff...

  • I was 12 when this song came out, and I loved the instrumentation then as much as I do now.

  • This is classic R&B music. Kashif never really got his props. I was 18 yrs young when this song came out. I thought I was a man lol. The drinking age was 18 and it was on and poppin. Real talk the 60's 70's and 80's produced the best music ever recorded. Also, Black men loved and respected Black women and we loved and cared for one another as a people because it was reflected in our music. How I wish those days... would come back once more. Stevie Wonder

  • Really smmooth song , yea a greaty 80 baby. like crown royal .

  • What a Great Song! Wow! I heard this song in France when I was at military school 1984

  • This kind of music is what made the 70's and 80's genuine, innocent, exciting and positive. Thank you Kashif

  • Very Classic indeed!!!

  • I wanna staaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy with you....

  • Thank you for this song. I have been looking for this song for years

  • Thank u.I didn't know the name of the song for over 20 years.

  • This is an all time favorite. Even though it has a keyboard "bassline" it still grooves hard. I fell in love and experienced heartbreak on this one. But as least I could listen to it in my new Honda Prelude with a Blaupunkt Stereo Cassette player!!! Lol!!!

  • Being a bass player myself, I can say it still rocks !

  • Another great one, I remeber these type of music that made real men.

  • this was the song that made him famous.

very beautiful song, moved from Oklahoma City-OKC, to Los Angeles, L.A.

  • Thank u ArchieGe 4 all of Kasif hit they take me back 2 the good times n my life n the 80's.What great memories...

  • LOL THIS guy is not teh guy you are refering to,

This Guy already has a great Career starting 25 years ago :)

  • @directorwvp2 Obviously a product of the American Idol generation are you. He was singing and producing music before you were born.

  • Say something love (just talk it out, talk it out...) LOVE it!!!

  • Damn, time flew when did i turn 44.

  • I love this song!

  • This song reminds me of my senior year of high school. It used to be playing over the boom box in the weight room....WDAS FM Philadelphia.

  • Summer 1983!! First Love, first apartment, first fly car (new Honda Prelude!) and first heartbreak. Say Something Love!!!

  • Step back a little now!!! This takes me back to all the track meets I ran back in high school!!!! And the song is still bangin'!!!!!

  • Miamiborn great memories eh? BTW 43, makes you just like our music; CLASSIC!!

    Mucho Gusto Mija

  • Man I thought this was a single. I heard this on the radio in Phoenix in February of 1984 with my mom in the car at least twice. I had a hrad time finding this because I thought it was called "Talk To Me".

  • Even the rhythm-less could groove to this!

  • just talk it out.....just talk it out

  • great song i remember he started out as the drummer for BT Express

  • All of the tracks from Kashif's first and self-titled LP is all gold. They are all timeless classics that will last a lifetime.

It is one of my favorite LPs and cherished

in my record collection. It has so much positive energy and memories that it is a vinyl diary of my pasttime. No other artist

moves me like Kashif. He is the ultimate singer, composer, and producer of his time.

  • I have to agree with you. When I was eleven I purchased the album and still rockin it today.

  • Well this album surely is on of my all time favorites as well

Maze & Frankie Beverly Kashif and Paul Laurence work all had a big part in me growing up

and i still cherish their music till today

    It's Timeless

  • @jadesystem I give Kashif his credit, and I agree that he is talented. However, in my opinion, NOBODY can touch Luther Vandross or Teddy Pendergrass. Sorry!

  • This is the smoothest and jazziest Kashif. Thanx for the memories and for posting it.

  • this song brings me back to the days of summer innocence.

  • Wonderful song.

  • I have not heard this song in so long. I used to have a radio show in college and used to play this. I miss music like this. It makes me feel happy. Very few current songs make me feel happy like this one does. Maybe this just brings back memories of my youth.

  • memories...love this.

  • Play this with Evelyn King's "Back to Love" from Get Loose lp. Both songs sound simular ("Back To Love" was also produced by, guess who??)

  • Great memories!!!!! THANKS FOR POSTING!

  • thanks for posting!!! I always loved this song!!!

    brings back good old memories!!!

  • Nice!

  • Love this Kashif tune! Thanks for posting it! Soooo soooooothing!

  • This was sooooo popular in late spring and early summer of 1983. Brings back many memories and feelings. Long summer nights....

I think Kashif gave Kenny G his start. Kenny G does a song by Kashif on his first album. I think the credits mention Kashif. This guy was everywhere but not as extensive as Nile Rogers who went on to produce albums for such famous non-black artists like Bad Company.

  • He did give Kenny G his start. In fact Kenny G's first four albums were primarily thanks to Kashif. Man are they good. After Kashif left him, Kenny G started to decline.

  • Wasnt Kenny G in Barry White's Love Unlimited Orchestra?

  • yep sure was

  • Damn. How come Barry didn't kill him before he did so much damage to jazz?

  • his first album was done by Jeff Lorber....Kashif did the next 2 then KG went to self producing

  • jeff lorber did his first album since he was in jeff lorber's band.... kashif did the next two and the song i think you are referring to is Help Yourself to My Love

  • do you remember condition of a heart ?

  • dont thik i remember it

  • its on you tube under condition of the heart., by Kashif

  • He's great singer like Billy Ocean. He was before my time, but this is a great song. Love it:)

  • omg I love this song

  • LOL! I was 17 when this came out and I still have the cassette. LOL! The whole album is good but this song is my favorite. I would play all the time. I dont know why he didnt release it as a single. What a great song. Great memories. Thank you so much!
