#3 never had the best car, but #3 was the best wheel man. If # 9 was sooo fast why didn't he just drive on by ? Same reason he didn't drive by #5 , He wrecked him to try to shrink the feild in one move. All you haters miss him , as much as the rest of us, At least they raced back then.
@MrJsmyers Clean racer when he was illegal out front. He wasn't even smart enough to keep his speed down when he clearly had more power than anyone, one race he made up laps "on the the track " no lucky dog bs. Just watch the this small sample, less than three minutes and you jus keep tellin your self how much of a "clean" racer #9 was. Like it or not, #9 ain't nuthin but grit under #3's pit stall on a good day.
Bill was a real clean racer and he had the car to beat. He did not wreck Dale when Darrell would have took him out for sure.Cale would have and Bobby Allison would have too, Bill was mad at dale blocking him cause the #9 was too fast for Dale..The only way he could win was to block Bill Elliott!
