Magnus is funny in his manner. Almost as though he's mentally challenged, as oppossed to being a genius. Constantly looking around... seemingly unfocussed.
@MADMAC572 that is because he probably has his entire match planned out before he plays, chessmasters are able to dictate what moves their opponent makes for the most part. Only subtle adjustments have to be made during a match (if you are as good as Magnus that is).
@SidelineTweeting101 If he were playing me, I would understand that. But here he's playing the number two player in the world who also has planned the match out before he plays and who also is ostensibly dicatating what Magnus must do (note this match ended in a draw).
@MADMAC572 Chess education: at high levels of chess players often look away from the board. This does not mean they arent thinking about the game but in fact they are picturing the moves in their mind. The image on the board distracts them from what they are thinking so they look away. #2 Carlsen is actually a literal genius. He is just picked chess as his area of expertise. Look up some info about him at least on wiki before spouting off insults.
@MrChesstony Why would you assume I am being insulting? Here he is playing the number two player in the world, and still taking out time to check out the girl at the table next to him. No question that's genius. Aronian stays focussed the whole match, and yet Magnus seems to have spare room in his mind to check out the game (and ostensibly the girl) at the next table. I'm impressed.
@MrChesstony Just out of curiousity, is English your native language? If not, that would account for why you didn't follow this conversation. You will not a mere two posts prior I said Magnus is a genius.
@cdgrijalva1 May ask why you think so? and may I also ask why you say "even Aronian? If you take a look at the Tata steel tournament right now you can see that Aronian is almost unstoppable.
@Kasparovwannabe I know Aronian is the best of this season, great player is going to be champion of the world soon or later. But is something in 1-1 world championship match, There is some extra thing that a championship contendor should have, to face the enormous preassure of the contendor and the media. Anand becomes into other person when he plays champ matches, he is no that frendly as in other tournaments, Chess doesn't stop in between games in champ matches.
@cdgrijalva1 So when i say that Kramnik has more options to beat Anand, I thing is correct. But all we know what hapened, that candidates tournament had some political arrangements. Karpov said that after this match, all Number 1 challenger, should be the winer of the candidates match, i hope carlsen participates in future candidates tournament..
@MADMAC572 Right now there is not distance between the 5 frist rank players, Tournaments are in some way a litle bit esier to play than a champ match. In a tournament you have time to relax, cause you play whit diferent people. Diferent openings, something unexpexted happen, but in a Chap match, i thing preasure is double. Carlsen said not long ago, that he expects become Champion before 2020. I thig Kasparov is a bad influence on his politics. He has to play the candidates t.
@TheCoolMovement it seems that magnus would have taken the pawn that levon advanced had he taken the queen. then the resulting threats and checks from the new queen would have lost levon his rook and bishop at the very least. Magnus would still have 2 rooks versus the queen for equal points and be up a bishop and two pawns. I however and not in the same ballpark as these guys but that is what seems to be the case in my opinion.
After making his queensac., Magnus pushed on for a win. Me and my good friend Houdini 2.0c watched the endgame, and I told him; now Magnus is 1 point ahead, now he's 2 points ahead, now he's 3 points ahead and now he spoiled it all with a repetition. Well..it reminds me of some of my own games -eager often fails.
You seem to know a lot about Dicks and which way they Snake. If your own Dick doesn't curve to the right, then how you know this? Are you an expert on Dicks? Or have you been sneaking a look at your fellow Boys, in the locker room, ya FAG?
Cum out the closet, you self hating Fag!
I gonna be telling all your straight friends to watch you, fake, Straight, PRETENDING POOFTER BOY :)
@cmyanmar1304:55. Houdini says It was unsound for Carlsen to make his Queen-sacrifice. And none of the players considered the matethreat Qg5 !! Carlsen never had the threat bxa2 and queening, due to this matethreat. And Aronian proved his blindness by not taking the queen. He would have been a whole rook up with a completely winning position.
@cmyanmar13 I actually like that- as long as he's consistent, it's his "poker face." I've seen Kasparov make wild facial expressions, and I always thought that may have helped his opponents realize when he's made a mistake. I definitely think playing poker in-person helps you control your emotions for an in-person chess game.
