i dont exactly know what the style that i throw as is called, but all i do is start with the sling behind my back, bring it up and spin it once above my head like a helicopter, then throw it overhanded. anyone know what it's called?
Wow, this must be the life.. Being able to sling golf balls away in peace, and no one to tell you different.. It makes me so proud to be an American.. Yeah, GO USA!! GOUSA!!!
I have to say that although I do indeed get some good throws out of the technique demonstrated here, after watching Brian Grubbs' video demo of the Figure-8 style, I have modified my arm movement to reflect his teaching. In this video you see that I don't extend the slinging arm straight at any time. I think that doing so can enhance the power so I am working on practicing that way now.
Yo; It's me, Rat Man. Nice form, PJ! I imagine the biggest danger in learning this form, at least to yourself, is clunking the back of your head when you snap it forward? I'll try it with pine cones first.
It just requires practice. Anybody can do it, and I found that it doesn't take too much time to get to a decent accuracy level, provided you know the techniques and have a workable sling.
With that technique, I can typically get a golf ball to go the full length of a soccer field, and sometimes about the length of one-and-a-half soccer fields. What's a soccer field? Is it 100 yards?
Nice ! However, slinging near traffic ?!?!!
