I recently re-discovered this beautiful song; since then I can't get tired of listening to it! What a beautiful song (both the music and the lyrics), it really touches my heart! Congratulations for this video, I very much like how you play this amazing song! Be blessed!
you should do a download or a cd for your songs that you play! I tried looking on I tunes and it is not as perfect as this. I would deffo but off you I like this sort of thing with just the organ and no other effects with it. Well done mate contact me if you are thinking about it I shall get a few off u.
Thanks for your kind words - many of my Subscribers tell me they use the free DVD Video Soft software and you can download from YouTube as an Mp3 and burn your own CD's.
I love how the chimes make it sound extra reverential and solemnly beautiful. This hymn has always been one of my favorites. This tune is also used for the LDS hymn "Israel, Israel, God Is Calling." It always strikes a nostalgic chord in my heart because I've known this tune and hymn since childhood. Thank you very much for being a blessing to my fractured heart today. :)
It was my dear mother's favourite hymn. She would listen to it when the Salvation Army band came to play in the street where she lived in North London.
I like this rendition much better than your previous posted version. I am somewhat disappointed you didn't finish the fourth stanza. I'd like to see you someday playing the Wanamaker Grand Court organ in Philadelphia or perhaps the organ in 1st Congregational Church in Los Angeles. These organs are more befitting a man of your talents. I truly appreciate the burden you've taken on. I like how you don't hide your light under a bushel.
I sometimes sing this song to my patients. Very soothing to them when they actively dying..within minutes or seconds of death. I think it makes the transition easier for them.
This song reminds me of the Stephen King movie "The Stand." It was the song that "Mother Abagail" used to sing in that film, when she was attempting to ward off evil. It is a great tune.

The Latter-day Saint hymn "Israel, Israel, God is Calling" is sung to this same tune. I love the lyrics to both. I also love the chimes!
