I think that Thai people are so friendly and welcoming that despite the political problems Thai people themselves are always welcoming foreigners. i don't know if it is because of Buddhism or the King but I find in Thai people very happy people smiling and singing, partying. I'm truly amazed and I can understand it must give you such a happy feel to be Thai and am foreigner and Catholic I respect Thai very much!

@whitepridenz i dont think so, it depends on the place you go. There are many sides of society in Thailand. Pattaya is quite a low class place, whores are usually there working erotically. But if you come to bangkok ... you'd see the difference
