On the SKS m59/66, there is a gas tube selector valve right in front of the grenade sights. If you rotate it to the right, then the gas won't press back the bolt and there would be much less recoil, almost none.

how does it fire actually? do you have to fire a bullet first to trap the gas or something? i have a yugo, and have always wondered how you actually get the grenade to shoot without a bullet in the chamber?
If you use a real bullet its a huge mistake that would likely fuck you up badly. Although there are rifle grenades I've heard of that are adapted to use a regular round. But yes, a blank cartridge is what fires it.
They close off the gas-recoil system and use a blank to fire the grenade. No bullets are used because this would probably kill you and maybe the rest of your unit.

If you are in the US there's like 100% no way to get them legally. As for Mods before you can use one you just need to switch the gasport screw to single-shot and put a blank round in I think....although there may be a special round used to fire them.
There is a grenade adapter that you can pick up at gun shows for cheap. They are plentiful mostly because most people don't want one on their SKS due to the fact that it is mostly useless without the obvious need for a grenade.

just to add more complications to your brains about grenade that is fired from sks it comes with 2 "blank" cartridges one caliber 7.62x39 and other 7.92x57 (8mm mauser) for yugoslav m48 and that is another shock well its simple yugo army issued adapter for it and it shoots much longer distances then sks there is so many things you guys need to learn about old yugo army and if you have more questions about any yugo rifle or grenade i can tell you much more

The Yugo SKS is no doubt a great rifle but only if you make sure you clean it after every use, especially the little gas valve! The #1 problem with the SKS is a worn-out or corroded gas selector valve causing stovepiping and jamming. New replacement gas valves can be purchased on the internet for like $10-$20.
Depends on what do you need it for. SKS is more accurate due to longer barrel but it is semi-automatic and holds 10 rounds versus AK47 which is automatic and holds 30 rounds magazine.You probably know,they use same ammunition.I guess you don't need it for combat :),so my recommendation would be SKS.
always go with ak if you can afford it they have wasr-10 for sale for 489.00 at jgsalesdotcom. SKS are usually around 350-400 where im from (texas) so spend a little extra and get an ak

how does it fire actually? do you have to fire a bullet first to trap the gas or something? i have a yugo, and have always wondered how you actually get the grenade to shoot without a bullet in the chamber?

Put a blank in the chamber.
And the gases will project the grenade.
If you use a real bullet its a huge mistake that would likely fuck you up badly. Although there are rifle grenades I've heard of that are adapted to use a regular round. But yes, a blank cartridge is what fires it.

There's a special grenade cartridge they use. It's essentially a blank loaded extra hot.

They close off the gas-recoil system and use a blank to fire the grenade. No bullets are used because this would probably kill you and maybe the rest of your unit.

If you are in the US there's like 100% no way to get them legally. As for Mods before you can use one you just need to switch the gasport screw to single-shot and put a blank round in I think....although there may be a special round used to fire them.

There is a grenade adapter that you can pick up at gun shows for cheap. They are plentiful mostly because most people don't want one on their SKS due to the fact that it is mostly useless without the obvious need for a grenade.

google search this- Yugoslavian M60P1 Rifle Grenade, Modern - Inert-Ord . net - and if you don't use gas valve your rifle will be damaged grenade adapter will fit any ak47/akm but is made to be used on Yugoslav akm/m70 with gas valve

just to add more complications to your brains about grenade that is fired from sks it comes with 2 "blank" cartridges one caliber 7.62x39 and other 7.92x57 (8mm mauser) for yugoslav m48 and that is another shock well its simple yugo army issued adapter for it and it shoots much longer distances then sks there is so many things you guys need to learn about old yugo army and if you have more questions about any yugo rifle or grenade i can tell you much more

And can you still fire a rifle grenade even if your rifle has no gas valve shut off? Mines not an M70 model.

for google search use name tromblonska mina and to explain to my knowledgeable guys why i said use special cartridge its because blank will not generate pressure needed to use with sights on rifle so every grenade is calibrated for size and weight and inserted with "special" cartridge i hope this opens some brain cells im just trying to fully teach you how when how come why .... all about this rifle and grenade

that footage is from 1992 doors of hell opened 1990 in Balkans and took more then 100 000 people and many rifles that you guys own today where used in that war and for ak or sks(pap) go with what you like ak is system that is proven not to jam and pass 300m you dont need assult rifle but for sks they are nice to but they will jam from time to time and in real world with real ak (full auto ) i will take ANY ak over sks

The Yugo SKS is no doubt a great rifle but only if you make sure you clean it after every use, especially the little gas valve! The #1 problem with the SKS is a worn-out or corroded gas selector valve causing stovepiping and jamming. New replacement gas valves can be purchased on the internet for like $10-$20.

AKs today are nearly as expensive as ARs, I just got an SKS and I'm glad I did.

Depends on what do you need it for. SKS is more accurate due to longer barrel but it is semi-automatic and holds 10 rounds versus AK47 which is automatic and holds 30 rounds magazine.You probably know,they use same ammunition.I guess you don't need it for combat :),so my recommendation would be SKS.

always go with ak if you can afford it they have wasr-10 for sale for 489.00 at jgsalesdotcom. SKS are usually around 350-400 where im from (texas) so spend a little extra and get an ak
