This is THEE worst advice I jave ever seen! I breed English Bulldogs and Goldens and you BUILD a REAL whelping box, with railings inside and if breeding, you people are totally inexperienced and should get educated.. A bitch is pregnant for 62 days typically, NEVER 70. By 70 u got big problems if those pups werent delivered OR u calculated your breeding dates wrong. I have a litter of Bullies due in 7 days. Im so disgusted in this video and its advice lol.. Our babies will be safe.

There are a few things here that I saw wrong. First of all the whelping box was not sturdy or high enough to provide enough security and privacy for the dog. A portable space heater should not be "optional", for the first few weeks a puppy cannot maintain its body heat so heaters are important and you should get one as soon as possible, preferably one that automatically shuts off when the room is at 80 degrees, 88 is ideal room temperature for puppies but heaters usually don't have that.

@Blessedpups Sure the puppies will survive without one, but it is still more comfortable for them and improves their chances for living. Its not 6 to 20 hours its 12 to 24 hours and its usually 12, in my experience. You should always use the bulb to clear the airways, if its choking it may have already inhaled afterbirth and could die of ammonia. You shouldn't let your dam simply jump into the whelping area, that can cause injury to puppies especially in medium to large breeds.

@Blessedpups Anddd one more thing, in your demonstration of cutting the umbilical cord, you cut just the cord, with string that long you should cut the string with the cord. Too long of string/floss the puppy can step on it and then pull it possibly causing a hernia, or the mom could pull on it and do the same thing, and more things can happen. That is all, but otherwise this is a useful video and is very well done.
