I have a e36 M3 3.0 (286bhp) and I raced a lot against the Golf 5 R32, and EVERYTIME I won with eaze.

So imagine if my m3 was 3.2 (EUROPE ofc).

@Kx48221 Yea like you said you got 286 HP r32 is putting out only 236 they say it has 240 but thats not true my friend the day he got it Brand New he toke it to the dyno now this i was back in 2003 ,, But Ya i still would Take the M3 Over a VW any day lol M3 pays for it Self My M3 already hit 237.000 and STILL RUns STRONG Just Take care of Her and put the Good  oil in her She will LOVE YOU BACK lol i just put some new BEMA WHEELS on her some 18's .. gonna put a video up

never do that with BMW, well im sure about e36 coz i own one...

once i did same (straight piped) and engine started to burn oil at High RPM and eventually it died :(

(beyond nice sound) it gives no ACCELERATION !

so this is my advice to all who has no idea what it is DO NOT DO IT, it doesnt worth!

P.S remember BMW guys , our car needs back pressure to accelerate so never CUT OFF muffler... this is not honda , mitsubishi or other Jap-shi...(sorry jdm fans) BMW is way different !!!

removing the muffler wont lose you ANY low end torque.

It WILL lower back pressure (slightly) but will not negatively affect hp or tq.

p.s.engines do not need backpressure.

The youtube audio quality doesn't give the true sound. I have my muffler off on my 325i for a repair on the drive axel. Sounds very similar to vid but a thousand times better.

Each time an exhaust valve opens it sends out a high pressure wave. If you add a pipe thats large enough to allow free flow but small enough to keep a defined wave, you can create suction on the backside of the wave. At certain RPM's that suction develops at the exhaust valve right when it's closing and the intake valve is opening. This 'sucks' the last exhaust gas out, and helps draw in fresh air, which is good. That's why an engine can make more power with the right pipe attatched.

You can get away with straight-through "cherry-bomb" style mufflers on some of Ford's larger displacement mod motors (anything at or above 5.7L), and you can't go wrong with straight-through mufflers on a rumbly old Windsor or Cleveland motor. However, modular engines, V6s and four-cylinders make a lot more high-frequency noise, so you'll be better off with a baffled (chambered) muffler or a fiberglass packed/baffled hybrid. these are sweet

its got the full m3 kit on it, the skirts, the bumpers including the splitters, the mirrors, the door strips, the wheels... no reason to not beleive that its an m3. cant really see the engine very well but its certainly a 6 so that rules out 316 and 318 :)

In California doing ANYTHING to your car is pretty much a fix it ticket and a fine. Oregon ftmfw, in some area's we don't have to smog test the cars, as long as it runs good and safe your golden. or another way around having to smog test is to buy an old car 74 and older.
