  • Love itt

  • I absolutely luffffff this movie.

this song is great. good videoooo :]

    well doneeeee

  • Aw, how cute. I love this movie. This was great!

  • 2:44 XD Sneaky little Gurgi!! Always did like him. ^_^

Sadly, THE PRINCESS AND THE GOBLIN trumps this movie in my book. It didn't help any when I found out Disney combined the first 2 books of THE CHRONICLES OF PRYDAIN into 1 & used the title of the second for the movie. They even took out some characters. I've read all the books in the series once, but my faves would have to be the 3rd one cause it's about Eilonwy and TARAN THE WANDERER.

Anyways, GREAT VID! Totally cute! ^.^

  • @KitaraStrife I correct myself. the name of my second fave book in THE CHRONICLES OF PRYDAIN is TARAN WANDERER and is the 4th book.

Here's the series by Lloyd Alexander for those wondering:

    ~The Book of Three

    ~The Black Cauldron

    ~The Castle of Llyr

    ~Taran Wanderer

    ~The High King

Read them all in middle school, ironically enough own only the second. Great books.

  • @breevil1994 What Disney movie does this scene refers to? - The main character's winged pet dislikes the female character his owner likes and when he has to carry her on his back he starts flying too fast for her and does tricks in the air such as spinning? Hercules of course. I can almost see the bad hair day Astrid would have gotten if she hadn't apologized.

  • @breevil1994 You know, the sequel to The Rescuers. It features a young boy finding a giant golden eagle being traped with ropes and frees it with a knife and they go flying and soaring into the sky in one of the most beautiful and creative flyng scenes ever featured in a movie. I think HTTYD just features parodies from various Disney and Pixar movies. You could say it has a little Disney-Pixar magic that makes it so good

  • @breevil1994 Even since HTTYD was seen, people keep getting reminded of Hiccup by seeing Taran. With all the Disney references I wonder if DreamWorks is promoting the Disney movies, like this tragically forgotten movie and Disney's underrated classic "The Rescuers Down Under"?

  • dose anyone think they should do a live action remake og the black cauldron. I really would like to see her in live action

  • @mizuru1993 YES! I would LOVE to see this movie be remade as a live action movie!! Only, I'd not only like to see BLACK CAULDRON, but the ENTIRETY of THE CHRONICLES OF PRYDAIN made into a live action movie series!! No more taking out of characters! >.<

  • Eilonwy deserves to be well known. I love her.

  • Eilonwy is generally disregarded as a Disney princess for I think two reasons. (1) She wasn't created by the Walt Disney Company nor from a traditional fairy tale, but from a modern novel. (2) The Walt Disney Company generally disregards "The Black Cauldron" altogether, possibly because it bombed. It's kind of one of the "legendary" Disney movies, like "Song of the South," that has been thrown in a vault and nearly pretended it doesn't exist. :(

  • i love this i think im gonna cry

omg here come the water works

  • Aria's theme really fits Princess Eilonwy

  • Best... female... disney character!!

  • That was amazing! It's nice to see that a real Disney Princess is getting some attention, and a marvelous video like this! Fantastic!

  • I've just watched the Princess and the Goblin and it led me to this music video. I like this video so much that I've decided to watch this movie next :)

  • That's so funny because my sister just watched the Princess and the Goblin for the first time a few weeks ago, and I really noticed the similarities to the Black Cauldron as well! I like the Black Cauldron better, though, so I hope you will like it, too. :-) Thanks for the comment and I'm glad you like the video!

  • i really love this song verry much tnks for the upload of this vid without you no one knows this song

  • its just lead me onto this too lol

the movie is good but the one i saw didnt have all the uploads :(

  • lol same here! the boy and girl even look similar to irini and curdie! XDD maybe them grown up?

  • @LadyOfBreeding omg so did i lol

  • @LadyOfBreeding

LOL that's actually weird because that's EXACTLY how I got here and what I planned on doing next.

  • beautiful !! i love eilonwy !! ^^ great workkkkkk !! taram x eilonwy 4 ever !!!!!!

  • in the books they dont specify age they leave it up to the imagination!

  • final fantasy intro a song

  • i was always looking for the princess and the goblin but i cold only ever find this movie

  • wow. love it <3. im gonna try n watch this movie now. never heard of it till now lolx D

  • That is a BEAUTIFUL song!

  • Hmm, I've never watched this movie, although I've read the series over and over...

I wonder why Disney changed the hair colors (Taran's hair is black and Eilonwy's is red-gold) (random question, I know; design and whatnot; SailorDonut's comment that she looked like a blond Ariel brought it home to me again lol there is a striking resemblance in the faces!)

I'm not sure if I will watch it... but, then again, lots of people seem to love it, so maybe I will...

But I shouldn't tonight lol must work!

  • how old do you think Eilonwy is?

  • I thiiiink she's 16. But I don't know for sure since I haven't read the books and they never specified in the movie. 16 seems to be the average age for Disney princesses, though. :-)

  • I think she looks a little young to be 16 I was thinking about 14 but I'm just guessing

  • To me she looks just like Ariel only with blonde hair, who is 16; I have no clue.

  • I'd say 13 is probably a safe bet. It seems to be the magic age for the younger Disney heroes/heroines. And since it's the age you become a teenager and therefore not a "kid" anymore, it makes sense. In general, the magic ages for Disney seem to be 13, 16, 18 and 20. And yeah, I agree, Eilonwy definitely doesn't look 16! It sounds bad but, frankly she's not nearly *clears throat*

"developed" enough to be 16. Plus, Taran has that classic 13-year-old awkwardness going for him. Haha! ;)

  • @SailorDonut

The book doesn't specify, but she looks 14. I like the video!

  • @SailorDonut

I know you responded two years ago, but she's more like 13 here. Both she and Taran grow up through the series and she's 15 in the sequel to the Black Cauldron.

  • @crescentlady Yeah I figured that out after I read the books.

  • I always think as Taran as a 13-14 year old, and in the books eilonwy was "one or two years younger than him" so I guess shes 11-12 ;P

  • There's something so peaceful and melancholy about this song. :)

  • aww beautiful song

  • Beautiful

  • 0:50, i love the animation of that scene. This song is real enchanting. Thanx for the upload. I've never seen this movie untill last year. I can't believe Disney didn't publicize this much.

  • what is the name to this move?

i think i have seen this one a loooong time ago.

  • The black cauldron, from Walt Disney

  • What a beautiful song!

  • best book series ive ever read

  • Someone needs to post the Black Cauldron...that is such a good movie!

  • agreed

  • someone has

  • All I can say: Gorgeous.

  • I watched this when I was younger, and one time I got really mad cuz I the ending never told if she and Taran got married or anything else!

  • Aren't they a little young for that? ^^;

  • Snow White was 14 or 15 when she married the prince. Besides, in those time periods? Pfft!

  • I always thought Snow White was like 16, or something.

  • Snow white is depicted as a 14 year old in the disney movie

  • She looks more like 16 to me, though.

  • In the Grimm Fairy tale she was like 9 years old... haha

  • thats an exaggeration Snow white is 14

    AND this vid is about

    Eilonwy not her

  • well, you started talking about Snow white, you know?

and I don't think she was 14, because she was able to marry and she does not look like 14...altough in those times, women married younger, but still, I do not think she was 14

  • I didn't start that subject

    "SarahfromLabyrinth" did:

[Snow White was 14 or 15 when she married the prince. Besides, in those time periods? Pfft!]

SHE WAS 16. But They modled her BODY and proportions to a 14 yr old.

I mean Compare her look to Ariel and Aroura

    there both 16.

  • yeah, well, Disney was a bit more conservative with her because he wanted to irradiate an innocent aura with her...and the critics were very skeptic with the film, so I believe they created her not as sexy as Ariel in order to avoid controversies with its first animated movie

  • Snow White doesn't look like she has the body of a 14-year-old to me.

  • Actually, she was 7.

  • In thought she was 16, since the queen wanted her dead. She was able to marry.

  • I know right! people married off there daughters when they were like 13 back then! yikes now, but it was no big deal then.

  • Read the original books by Lloyd Alexander. The fifth and final book reveals the final fate of Taran and Eilonwy.

  • are the books any good?

  • The books are wonderful. They chronicle Taran's journey from boy to man, from assistant pig keeper to warrior, and his relationship with Eilonwy is a major subplot.

"Taran of Caer Dallben, I am never speaking to you again!"

  • okay so the movie is like a short version of all the books or something?

  • It combines book 1 (The Book of Three) and book 2 (The Black Cauldron). Specifically, they used the villain from book 1 with the quest from 2.

  • okay, and are all the characters from the mvoie in the books? because you know sometimes disney makes characters up ...(if not, which ones are not in the book?)

  • The movie follows the first two books about 65%. Taran didn't get as much action with that sword as we saw in the movie, and it would actually be more like book three or four before Taran and Eilonwy really thought about anything romanticwise. Doli was a dwarf, not a fairy, but oh well. But the fifth book was a Newberry award winning book. Man, need to dig those out again. I really loved the bards from reading those.

  • that, and they kinda mashed The Horned King, Arawn, and Achren into one. and they didn't put in Gwydion, which was a shame =(

  • The only character made up was the Creeper

the orc-ish little servant of the Horned King

  • Well put I'll have to describe it like that to people

  • Youtube--Once You Meet Her.

    SING-ALONG-SONGS.

    The Black Cauldron

Heroine of Disney's The Black Cauldron.

    Music from Final Fantasy.

    The Elionwy and Princess Gurgi.

    Youtube-Once You Meet Her.

THE FAVORITES PRINCESS OF ALL TIME.

  • shes so hot

  • FAVORITE PRINCESS OF ALL TIME

  • Oh so beautifull! *Eilonwy* is very pretty princess!!! one of my faves of Disney Princesses!!!

  • anyone know where i can find the full movie?

i'm too young to order anything from amazon, where i know you cn get it, and my parents don't really approve of ordering things online. and i've wanted to watch this movie for the longest time ever... anyone know?

  • cant you find it in any dvd-store or something?

  • princiess eilonwy is the most amazing disney princess ever... better that that Snowhite whore or that Yazmin Bitch... Eilonwy KICKS ASS

  • Snow White is NOT a whore, and Jasmine is NOT a bitch!!

  • lol you called snow white a whore and jasmine a bitch lol i like them but that made me laugh i dont know why lol

  • Snow White is no whore. And JASMINE is no b**** either. But I can agree with you on one thing: Eilonwy does rock.

  • Aww, it's so cute with that music! ^_^

  • I cant stop loving this video! please sailordoughnot, never put it away!

  • I love Eilonwy! She's my third fave princess

  • This video is wonderful! It perfectly captures the very essence of Princess Eilonwy.

  • @diegeiga I agree

  • my little sister Kaylee looks like Princess Eilonwy.

  • really? then she must be really pretty, isn't she?

  • Thank you to everyone for being supportive of my video! :-)

  • you are welcome

  • cruchies n munchies!!!!

    this amv has gotten

    Thats AWESOME

  • Well, I must have written already around 8 messages in this text, but I want to tell you sailordonut that I really like your video. I always liked Eilonwy, but I had not watched it since I was in jr High school. It brings me good memories and also fits Eilonwy very well (the song).

  • I think i've commented on this vedieo about six million times before, but it just really moves me . . . sooooo great!

  • the format would do fine bigger, but the video is beautiful

  • triste que la princesa no es muy conocida, porque es muy bonita

  • Donut, beautiful song and scenes. I must say I found the books MUCH better than Disney's version, but Eye-LON-wee (I used to pronounce her name Ellen-wee hehe) was a cutie in the movie. I adored her hair and voice. I was majorly disappointed when Disney left out her droll analogies! Eilonwy rocks!!!

  • Yet another overlooked 80's Disney movie. I love the Black Cauldron. This girl has the hardest to pronounse name, or it sounded that way to me. Is this song from a FF game? If so which one? This sounds nice. Probably from the English dub.

  • It's from the Final Fantasy Pray CD, which took music from some of the earlier games and set lyrics to it. I think the CD has songs in a variety of languages, but I'm not sure... I just know that this one is from FF3 and is only in English, but it's sung by a Japanese girl which is why she's hard to understand in parts.

  • Ok thanks for that. So they put lyrics to the BG music for FFIII. I might get this song it sounds nice. And the scenes from the Black Cauldron you put in this are great. Good Job ^_^.

  • I'd like to see this movie.

  • I really love this song <3

  • I know; it's so beautiful!

  • ...that definitely sounds like the ff3 music... but I didn't know it had words... you can kinda tell that it was originally in Japanese, though, because the words sound slightly awkward...

    still, good vid!

  • They took the music from Final Fantasy III (and a few other FF games, I think) and wrote words to them for a CD called "Final Fantasy Pray." This song was never in Japanese, however it was written in English by a Japanese person and sung by a Japanese person, which is why the lyrics are odd (think "Eyes on Me" from FF8). I think the CD had some stuff in other languages, such as French, as well.

  • ah, ok! thanks for the info! I didn't know all that.

  • yeah great song it is from FF3 ^^ i love the Final fantasy songs theyre so great

  • Very nice video with equally nice song! But I can't believe I didn't see this movie until I was 18. Lol, you'd think I'd see it before then like most other Disney movies.

  • Very nice tune to the movie. The Black Cauldron is a great story, kind of like Eragon- but made with alot more characters and story developement. Set in ancient Wales, the movie didnt do the book justice. The movie was actually about an earlier book called the Book of Three.

  • I know and not only did they base it on an earlier book but it was not Gurgi that crawled into the black cauldron to save them.

  • OOOOOOOOOOOH hey anyone has nice names of movies like this one ? pls may u replay if u do hav and thank u <3

  • Do you think you could upload the whole movie? This makes me want to see it even more! :)

  • That was great, I enjoyed it. It was nice and easy and simply. Wonderful job. I just wish they would do the whole series just like the booka because it's quiet funny, action-packed, funny, and romantic.

  • Thsi is so cute! ^^ I've never seen that movie, but I want to now!

  • Beautiful.

  • i loved this ,good job

  • This reminds me of when I was 13 and had a crush on Eilonwy. :D

  • lol thats cute

  • Thank you. Beautiful ... and the song is nice too. :)

  • haha, I am having a crush on Eilonwy right now,

  • Seeing her again makes me feel 14 again. Which was my age when the movie came out. :D This song really fits her... kinda like what the bards might have once sang.

  • yeah, a nice nostalgia...what are the bards?

  • Bards were what Fflewddur Fflam (the older guy in this) was trying to be. In nature they were entertainers. Effectively they were the news network of their time as they heard from other bards in their travels and would spread the news elsewhere. Also good recanters of history.

  • oo, ok, its just that in Spanish is called "juglares" and bards sounded something like a wall, jaja, thanks

  • Juglares? A spanish Bard? What were they like historically?

  • they were the Spanish version of the bards, but these ones came from more humble origins, I think juglar (jester in English) is just another kind of bard

  • yeah, a nice nostalgia...what are the bards?

  • omg this song inspires me for the novel im writing! this is found on the final fantasy III soundtrack right?

  • Wow, what a gorgeous video! I saw the film once when I was little, and I want to see it again now! I love that song, too, and I loved how you fit the video to the lyrics!

  • Where did you find the music file for this? (Elia - Vocal)

  • this made me wanna see the movie..ive never seen it..anybody know where i can watch it full length online??? please

  • ya plz let me know too

  • oh awesome!!!!

  • omg such a beautiful song is final fantasy III a movie?

  • It's actually a video game. :-)

  • Beautiful. Tarzan was the first Disney I saw in theaters. It left a soft spot in my heart. -:)

  • I've always loved the name Eilonwy, and want to name my daughter it (in the far future hahaha).

My question is - How do you pronounce Taran exactly?

  • In the movie it's TAH-rahn.

  • Okay, so...

    Ta- like Tada?

And Ran...like "I RAN to the store"? OR like the name "Ron"?

  • Like the name "Ron" :-) And yes, "ta" like tada.

  • Hahahah thank you. It was bothering me b/c the book pronunciation looks a bit different.

  • Actually, I think it's pronounced Tar-rin in the movie.

  • Eilownwy rocks and this song theme can be seen in FFIII DS im serious the character in FFIII looks almost like Eilowny in this movie but wit longer hair

  • Lol Aria and Eilonwy look very similiar

  • i watch it every day ._. do you know where i could get a copy of this song at least? i want it soo bad

  • thank you very much for this ! I like her ! it's a shame not many people know who she is.

I've never read the books, and The Black Cauldron may not be one of Disney's greatests, but I still like it.

  • you soooo have to read the books! they are wonderful, they were the first fantasy series i ever read and i still keep reading them. the 2nd book: the black cauldron and the last book: the high king are the best IMHO. ^_^

  • How do you pronounce that name? it looks beautiful

  • It's el-ON-wee. At least, that's how they say it in the movie. :-)

  • Eye-lon-wee

    in the books

  • I thought it was pronounced Eye-lon-wee in the movie?

  • so wat happens in the end? i never read the books. infact i just found out it was a series lol

and i never got to watch the movie whole way through

ive only seen parts of it. wat happens in the end?

  • Eilonwy is like the forgotten princess. this vid rox!!!

  • bon! Eilonwy is such an under... appreciated? girl of the disney movies! Merci!

  • Am I the only one annoyed by Disney's need to screw up great works of art. I adore these books... but Gurgi was hysterical. Loved him and Elionwy, my boyfriend calls me that.

  • nice video!

  • love dis film xxx gd job xxx

  • Eilonwy is supposed to have red hair! For goodness' sake! I'm sorry, but that upsets me. And she and Taran are constantly arguing and driving each other crazy until the very last book of the series. All this lovey-doviness so early on is awful to see. To me this movie will never be as good as the books. But yes, Eilonwy has a great personality. She's confident, proactive, strong, and very smart. Good role model.

  • I'm loving the first book. I saw the movie on video when i was younger and I remembered enjoying it so I picked up the series. Your right but remember this is just a children's film. Where's Flewdur by the way?

  • Flewdur is a wandering bard who is actually king of a very small kingdom. He has a magic harp that breaks a string whenever he tells a lie. Which is often.

  • Yes I know... I'm reading it! Glad you like it.

  • Yes, they do fight, but they do have their moments... that Taran often messes up (who isn't stupid in their youth?). I loved the scene in "The High King", for instance, when Eilonwy presents Taran with a stitching of Hen Wen.

  • I love this! My girlfriend is named Eilonwy from the Pry dain Chronicles series.

  • Nice vid, a bit repetitive, but nice

  • a beautiful video, very well made. almost made me cry! lol I loved that movie, I don't understand why disney thought it sucked, I thought it was very good. Eilonwy always appealed to me for some reason, her personality is the kind of girl I'm into I guess. lol cool video, again congrats on a job well done!

  • Okay thanks

  • OMG great video! ^__^ Can someone please tell me how I can download the Black Cauldron?
