I think he's just trying to use this as a way of helping these students use art to spread the Gospel or show a Bible story. In this way, it's an excellent example.

Dear Dr Bill. I love Jesus, and I love art. And I`m also a Childrens Worker for the Anglican & Methodist church, and there`s no way this works as art for kids. But if you find it works with the people you`re working with God bless you (But if you say you like painting...don`t chicken out on drawing a person from the front because faces are tricky....tsk).
