  • This run was on 8 psi.. Check out the other runs at higher psi on his subscription.. I know I cant drive at 8 psi.. I never race at 8 psi.. At 20 psi it takes over 600 whp to beat this car.. Thats the bottom line ..In second gear Im used to blowing the wheels not getting traction so whatever.. Haters hate, racers race..

  • I may have $20k in my civic and you corvette is bone stock. And yeah we may run side by side in a race. But i built my car with passion and skill with my own hands, street tuned and everything. Some people pay $10k for someone to build their car and some do it themselves. But i tell you what, it is very satisfying to run my little commuter car that STILL gets 30mph right next to camaro's and mustangs and everything else that comes stock with 3-4-500hp. I might win or i might not but its all fun

  • Personally, i think no matter what brand or style or country a car is, they are all the same. All they are is personal preference. It what you want it to look like, sound like, feel like and ride like. Some like Hondas, some like fords, some like chevys, some like Hyundai... you win some you lose some. If you would just comb your dumb ass fauxhawk down flat and look at it from a motorist point of view, you might understand. I've had hot rodders check out my car at shows and I've had some laugh.

    I don't hate import/domestic cars, only bad cheep cars (hyundai,kia,aveo) I just dont like when people get on youtube comments with so much hate on someone else's car, a car they don't own or have not driven, as most of these comments below are about.

    As stated, I'd buy one of these lightning hatches for the fun that they deliver. Its not taking its self too seriously and if you break it its cheep to replace/repair. That adds up for good fun.

  • I was speaking from a general standpoint. Personally i went a more expensive less common direction with my civic. I have a Jackson racing supercharger. Important only pushing 250hp and it cost me a lot more than a sohc vitara build on high boost. But like i said i went less common. I went a track direction with mine, not drag direction. And no i don't smoke everything made in America.

    Put the same money into the car you want to beat with the honda and your back at square 1 or worse. If it only costs you 2grand do up your honda the other guy who has the $60k car will have no trouble putting 2grand in his car.

That said, My friend's honda pulls 1.6 60' at the strip with slicks, and my awd talon pulls 1.7's on street tires. I like being able to hook up on the street though. I also hate that every other car I pass when I'm going down the road is a modded honda. I would rather be different than everyone else. Any car is fast with the right mods.

Plus it's the cheapest, safest way to make power. BTW the fastest street cars are muscle cars, there are multiple STREET DRIVEN muscle cars from the 60's and 70's that run 6 second passes at well over 200 mph. I'm not concerned with where the supra fits in. It's not that i'm a "muscle guy", it's about physics.

It's the same exact thing with any modified car, any real car enthusiast would know it doesn't just apply to imports. As for the new mustangs prices? It's got nothing to do with quality, it's efficiency in production, and I never said "I served my country so i'm correct" but I am correct. 305hp/31 mpg and 412hp/26 mpg for 20-30k? That's unrivaled.

  • @TheShel8777 Not knocking honda or anything, i'm a big Senna fan, he won 3 F1 world championships driving a McLaren Honda, but the more displacement in a street car, the better, that way if and when its boosted, the power and torque is multiplied that much more. The saying "there's no replacement for displacement" means displacement is the easiest, safest, cheapest most torque-filled way to go faster, and often means better mpg too, more torque at cruising speeds means lower rpm.

I'm simply stating that the more displacement, the more torque you get all the way around the powerband, which can also mean better fuel economy and cruising speeds. That random 1.6 liter honda you mentioned? It needs a shitload of boost to keep up, and any decent naturally aspirated v8 will pull on it up top because of all that extra torque. BTW Ford makes OHC v6's and v8's that kill everything else in the price range...
