  • @DrumTchr Haha i remember last year, we played this song. out teacher would start us off at a school concert and walk away to do other stuff. We played great though. Its just expected because of the middle school or something like that. Lets see if my high school would be better or not

  • The only influence that the leader of the band is having on anyone here is getting the people to clap after the 2 horn solos and getting the people to put their chairs away at the end of the tune.

  • i'm gonna have to play this, i'm in seventh grade. will be in eighth grade when playing it.

  • Would've been nice to actually see the drummer, but otherwise I like...

  • Playing this at my Middle school's jazz band, Our drummer has no imagination and plays exactly whats written. (Makes it really boring)

  • hee hee the kid who plays drum for this song in our jazz band sucks sooo much that we are having a competition for who plays the best and gets the part

  • eh. u guys suck

  • ....um.....where the piano!

  • omg i sooo remember playing this!!! haha being the drummer rocks lol

  • omg. i looked up this song to research on the song i'm playing in jazz band and the high school i was gonna go to shows up..hehe, i think it's pretty cool.

    anyways..good job!

  • Too bad when we played it we had a drum solo in the middle instead of a sax solo and I had to play it...

  • Okay so some of the horns were a little sharp; a little flat but ABOVE ALL --- you SWUNG! Perfection will eventually come with practice. The important thing is that you get it -- you get that swing thing! The rest will come naturally. Good job!

  • A bit fast.

  • True dat

  • Not bad. However, what seems to be the biggest problem in modern-day school big bands, is the balance and blend problem. Also, it starts to rush around C. the saxes get a little carried away.

  • i am playing this in jazz band for jr. high. Thanks for the vid . its giving me a good insight on the song.

  • This was the first tune I played in high school stage band. The year was 1968, believe it or not. I am very concerned that jazz needs to grow and refresh itself. Our stage band certainly wasn't playing 40 year-old arrangements. Why is this the practice now?

  • Because they are classics.

Symphony orchestras play music much older than this. Why should it be any different for jazz groups?

  • Hello Paul - thank you for your great support.

  • bad :(

  • I blame the camera, because I know what I played was amazing.

  • hahaha

  • @bloodshotcow1 actually, radek is right, the solos sounded alright, but as a whole... ew

  • Really? I liked it.
