Also, you failed to mention that the GBA Micro was a rather failed version of the Gameboy. They stopped selling it shortly before the DS Lite came out. Sadly, I never bought one, so it's the only Gameboy version I don't have.

i heard the whole gba-cartridge-is-half-the-size­-of-regular-gb thing is because with the game boy color the circuit board got smaller and smaller. when they finally got that small, nintendo decided to make their next game 32 bit, make the shell smaller, and make a new console, being the most advanced portable console at the time. hence the name, game boy advance.
