@kkeerroo Either am I, But a 2pole motor has 2 wires usually one positive and one negative. The mag is a 4pole motor with 2 red (positive) and 2black (negative)wires. I split them and run one red and one black to each Thor (Victor 885)
Awesome video, Matt! Sewer Snake is a true legend. Regarding the chains coming loose when the wheel shafts get torn out, have you ever thought about doing something to avoid them getting the remaining stuck ? I think a U-channel aluminum piece screwed to the the wall and having the chain run through it could do the trick. Just have to be careful to place in such away no to hit the chains during normal operation.
hello I have a two ampflow A28-400 which I recommend Planetary Gearbox

Thanks for the video!
What are you using as a remote valve for the flamethrower? Is it just a 24v pneumatic solenoid our is it something more specialized?
Thanks again and keep up the great work!!!

I have a question. Why do you use two Victors per motor?
kkeerroo 4 months ago
@kkeerroo the S28-400 motor under load can easily pull 200 amps and 2 IFI Thors (now called VEX Victor 885)
was lighter and have a smaller foot print in the bot than an Ampflow or Vantec ESC.

@mattmaxsr
Thanks.
Is it one IFI per pole of the motor? I'm not an electronics person

Thanks for the video! My robot will definitely benefit from your pointers. For a plumber, you sure seem to have a knack for engineering a robot!
Keep up the good work!

Two more, have you ever been so much damaged, that you had to change the whole frame? Was it done by CNC or just hand tools?
gbmonstergb 6 months ago
@gbmonstergb
Most of my robots have been laid out by hand and holes drilled by hand or I also have used a drill press or manual mill.
I have never not been able to put the bot back in the arena after damage from a first round loss or one fight
((we have had times where we forfeited a final match to speed up a show and ran a different bot to give the audience a Final match!)))
we have retired a frame after an event to make a new and upgraded frame design.

Another question, if you run just one of the driving motors, will SS go forwad or turn?

just curious to know where you put the flame thrower ? theres hardly any space in there !
kasunt 6 months ago
@kasunt The flame thrower is In the top flipper...
So it is outside the actual bot in case it goes off! POOOF!!!
