zendo31, I am not trying to appear rude but I think you may want to do some research on what drove and inflated our economy before the crash and what has changed since then, the amount of goods we export versus what we import and what will drive an economic recovery. Also some studies on the Federal Reserve and how it operates might be worthwhile. And finally I would recommend a study of the fractional reserve system and what a fiat currency historically does to a countries finances. Good luck.

Lowering the value of the dollar does not create jobs. It impoverishes the people. Look at Zimbabwe. A weaker currency means commodities, food and everything costs more. Savings buy less and therefore it's harder to invest what we have to increase future productivity. Jobs come from lower taxes and less regulations and more investment. In the 1950's America was the greatest exporter in the world while it had the strongest currency and it was the creditor nation for the world.

Then in the 60's the gov't started printing paper money and in 71 they had to drop it from gold.
