How well would you say the Fluval 3 "Plus" Internal Filter works. I bought one online yesterday and im wondering if its going to do a good job. Im using it in a 14 gallon turtle tank.
It worked well for me, except it started to suck up the sand that I have and the sand broke it. I think that as long as you have gravel though it should be a good filter.
Wow, awesome! You should soon upgrade to maybe a 40 Gallon, then add some smaller fish (like mini bubble fish, or something that will last a loong time), then add more plants (hopefully real), and you would make that feederfish verry happy
Tank looks great, and the fish looks very happy and healthy.
As for the background, I am a big fan of the plain backgrounds, I really don't like the cheesey backgrounds found at the pet stores. If you just want a plain background, I would recomend laytex paint. It is easily applied and if you get sick of the color will peal off the glass very easily.
Thanks for the suggestion about laytex paint. That is a really good and easy idea. I'm thinking about a blue color...but I'm not sure if that will match the black gravel and green plants...
Not sure about the blue with the black, maybe get something blue and hold it up to the back of the tank and see how it looks in contrast. I painted my 150 blue not to long ago, but I have the light tan sand, so it is not the same as the black gravel. A dark green might look good, but before you choose a color, like I said, hold a sample up to the back and see how you like it first.
One tip, look for a fast drying laytex, it will take a few coats to get the coverage you want, and it takes a long time for regular laytex paint to dry. If you get a fast drying laytex, it allows you to apply the second and third coats even quicer and get it done with.
The tank is too small for the big goldie.

People only care about feeder fish when they get a foot long like this lol.

keep the background black, it brings out the color of the fish and you should maybe put some drift wood and just a little more plants.
if i was you i wouldnt give it away, its a very nice looking fish.

Nope, thats definitly a mutation of a crucian carp, known as a golfish. This one is a common goldfish.

I like the contrast between the darker toned tank, and the bright fish. It definately grabs your attention. Nice job.
