This is where you can see GM is kinda bringing the Pontiac style and performance back! (But its now called a buick). And with a turbo inline4 putting out more HP than its previous generation's supercharged V6, Wow!! I can't imagine what the V6 model will have!!!
I hope they Stick with the Ecotech i4, it's a great motor, if they're going to dump a v6 in it, it'll just end up being the one in the v6 camaro, which has around the same power as that 4cyl
Would You like to sell or buy this car? Rapair? Make a fan club? Or want to know more about it? Register and discuss about this car in _V6wall com_ ;)
i really wish ppl would stop saying that, as if its gonna flop because it doesnt have the HP u want...the car probably isnt targeted for u....it will drive just fine with what it has...GM has no room for error
that dude hasn't got a clue about engines... in europe opel insignia opc has v 2.8. V6 twin turbo with 325HP with 4 wheel drive. In america it will be sold as a buick regal GS with a 2.0l l4 turbo engine with 255HP. Americans got the weaker engine, not the other way around. I think it has something to deal with a V6 being too powerful for a buick...
I love this Regal and I hope after a while, they release a high output V6 with the manual, AWD and a coupe version. Even if it pushes close to 40K, I would buy it!
all else aside, this is the best looking Buick in a long time... perhaps decades (now that it's 2010). The "grand-sport" is probable in the 30's, so I'd probably buy a different car for that money, but I'm sure it'll appeal to some.
Because if you pay attention this car is already available in Europe genius. It'll be the exact same car that's already available and been given great reviews.
@BestestMoron gm def payed these guys because they are trying to reach their big government arm out to a target market which is the person who watches inside line on edmounds
I have no problem with GM using this car though. They have owned Opel for 80 years so I'm surprised they didn't do this sooner. The Insignia is a great car and has won many awards in Europe. I am happy to see it coming to the States.
SO , being based off means it retains all the characteristics? If no tests have been conducted on this car, how can you claim it as a poor man's Audi S?
The SHO is in the large-sedan class whereas the Regal GS is in the mid-size sedan class. Point is, is that they don't compete with each other. Though the SHO is a great car.
i am trilled u like my design for pontiac.

They should just drop the entire Pontiac G8 motor in this car, keep the 6 speed, and offer RWD standard with AWD an option for about $1500 more.
texan176 2 years ago 3
@texan176 they almost did that with the LaCrosse Super, except it was a 300hp LS4 and it was FWD.
which is why GM is broke

I agree with you in general. I only bring that up because the European car (the Opel) has a fair bit more power.

@MJND1990
not only nearly 100% vauxhall insignia. it is one with a buick badge stuck on it. its even made in rüsselsheim, germany.
