  • Thanks for the spoiler at 2:24, trailer people.

  • I love allegories like this.

  • Happy Birthday George Romero! Godfather of the modern zombie!

  • i wish that big shit come true ... let's buy SAVAGE 99 BEFORE :D

  • an actual horror trailer that tells u what the movie is about. instead of just a bunch of flashing pictures and violin strokes. when they remade the crazies the trailer showed some guy dragging a pitch fork and a couple kills. i thought it was about a homicidle family that kills the neighbors who just moved in but it's actually a movie about a bunch of mutants in a small town in the 70s called the crazies. none of which carried anypitch forks.

  • GET TO DA CHOPPA! 0:41

  • I know that most of you love this movie because you grew up with it. But for todays standards it looks pretty funneh. It has blue zombies lol

  • I Like Only The Rlly Good Orignals Like Nightmare On Elm Street or Friday The 13th But This Is Kinda Lame, Re-Make is Way Better

  • I love this version the best. The remake is nothing but a crock of shit.

  • I love to hear those zombie screams!!! hahaha great movie!!!

  • This movie kicks ass

  • I think they would start off fast, but tissue would get worn and tear which should make them progressively slower

  • Night of the Living Dead=Classic

    Dawn of the Dead=Classic

    Day of the Dead=Awesome

    Land of the Dead=Awesome

    Diary of the Dead=Amazing

Survival of the Dead=Still haven't seen it lol.

  • @sfighter991 you missed "Poop of the Dead" lol

  • @subzerosv Lol. And "Survival of the Dead" premiered on AMC, It was pretty interesting.

    Nice joke yo!

  • Fast VS Slow zombies.... Neither one is logically correct. Fast zombies are wrong because of the fact that you're rotting and youre supposed to be stiff due to the rigomortis. Yet, if a zombie was slow, how the fuck could they kill so many people? I could out run them and knock em out quickly. But it's just a movie. Thats why I dont see a point in the Fast Vs Slow zombie dilemma. But on another note, the guy with the eye patch is the same doctor from The Crazies (1973). George directed that film

  • @bigsmoke53 Fast zombies are scarier.

  • Why can't movies nowadays can be good as this one?

  • @godwinkent888 because of the greed of hollywood and the ignorance and short attention span of the mainstream audience.

  • i watched this movie for the first time ever when i was 5. It gave me nightmares and traumatized me for life! that's exactly why i'm buying it off amazon and showing it to my friends. they've never seen it.

  • All time favorite!!!!!! George is brilliant!!!!! I have to admit I enjoyed the remake as a stand alone film.., but only after watching it 3 times... But it lacks the whole "humans are mindless drones driving by consumerism".... Fast zombies are cool and all, but the slow ones are better AND far more creepier... Now the 28 days series is awesome too!! But they are NOT DEAD/ZOMBIES... so they are allowed to run!! ;)

  • George Romero has a cameo as the cameraman in the beginning in the studio scene. look out for him :)

  • @datsome80 Well, not really a camera man, BUT his name is onscreen when his cameo is featured, which is pretty cool :)

  • @fivebearrugs my mistake mate.

  • @datsome80 No worries; he's wearing plaid or a scarf of something, I can't remember, but his name shows up when he's onscreen :)

  • @datsome80 Also in the biker scene, George is dressed like Santa Claus

  • What freaked me out is that for some of the zombies, Romero and Savini actually cast real amputees!

  • Adolf Caesar, the voice of blaxploitation coming attractions trailers, did the voice-over for this.

  • 0 dislikes.. That's a first on Youtube!

  • @djpetenice

Not really. But it's a first to have so many likes and 0 dislikes for THIS long.

  • They gave away way too much in this trailer, but since everybody has already seen it, almost, it doesn't matter

I saw this the very first time without seeing the trailer, so it was all totally fresh, it's really the only way to experience it for the first time

  • Aside from the "memory" thing that Romero keeps going back to, the original Dawn is by far my favourite zombie movie

  • "We got this man, we got this by the ASS!!!"

  • I got to admit, I have a crush on Fran, I think she's pretty.

  • "It gets up and kills. The people GET UP AND KILL!"

God I love how the actor delivers his lines in this scene. Small role notwithstanding, this guy brought his A Game.

  • My god, how have I not seen this? :D

  • Real chilling voiceover from the great Adolph Caesar!!!!!!

  • i dont understand how this movie shows a society gone mad in it's excesses. i think i get the part that here is no difference between us and the zombies wandering the mall but that other part i dont see

  • @mikess56

How it shows it, is that they are so consumed with the idea of the mall and what it has, that it becomes a prison.

Plus Peter at the end didn't want to leave, he was infatuated with the excess of goods in the mall.

We as a society tend to put more value on material items than we do with human interaction or human life.

See black friday videos on the web here. It shows exactly what the film shows with the bikers who break into the mall just to steal stuff.

  • @snake2006 My friend tells me that the idea of the zombies in a mall is satire, that we are mindless drones walking through the mall looking for things to buy. Which is what Steven said "This was an important place in their life."

Which is something they didn't have in the remake. But still good.

  • @WeylandYutaniInc91

That is the point I was making and the film makes.

We are walking drones consumed by consumerism.

  • I sure hope the 4-disc Ultimate Edition gets a blu-ray update soon! I am SO getting that when it comes out.

  • @Takeshi357 just get it for dvd i have it its a must have in every horror collection

  • @strikecommando01 I already HAVE the DVD.

  • (sigh)......I want to see this movie so badly. I look for it everywhere, and I see it everywhere as well. The problem? All the editions I see are the 2004 remake. It's on right now, and I was severely disappointed because I thought it was the original. I mean, what happened?! Did the US ban the original or something?! Screw the remake, I want to see this!!
