I hear ya, Momma! I was paranoid about SIDS, too so I slept with my daughter and made sure I kept stimulating her by hugging and kissing and caressing her while she slept.

These look GREAT!!! We were afraid to use the bumpers with our daughter too. We kept her sleeping in her pack n play till she was about 6 months and then when we did put her in her crib we chose to risk it and not put the bumper in. The bumper that came with our crib set has never left the closet!
I used the mesh bumper. I only put it in when she could roll, but not control her own mobility yet. As soon as she could pull herself up to stand I took it out because kids can use it to climb on. The mesh one has velcro, no ties also. It was $20 on amazon :-)
I was number 59 on the petition. We have already bought our son's crib bedding but absolutely will NOT be using the bumper and we knew that from day one. The reason they haven't been recalled yet is the same reason the slings were just now recalled...no parent has been to the mass media yet over a baby's death due to bumpers...and until that happens they will keep selling them. Its a shame every parent doesnt know the dangers of bumpers and that the deaths of innocent babies can be avoided.

why dont they just stop selling them if they know they can cause sid's. even if one child was lost from the bumpers, they should be recalled. all of them. they recall things all the time that are unsafe for children! i will be signing the petition! i would like to see cribs being designed to be safe and soft, from the day they are assembled! like use the wood bars, but make them round and cover them in a foam padding. and then sell different zip covers for your style! that would be awsome!

It can be a very controversial subject-there are some people that are dead set on using traditional bumpers and think there is nothing wrong with them no matter HOW much research says...I wish they would be recalled because you are right they recall a MILLION things all the time...it's only a matter of time..and unfortunately deaths before bumpers are recalled-and I think until it is for sure the KNOWN (continued on in next comment)
@lovecanbemagic reason for SIDS then they will recall them...but until then they won't do anything....like I said in the video tho-the Canadian government HAS said that they aren't safe and don't recommend using them but of course until it is the proven factor for SIDS nothing will get done....but thanks to Go Mama Go Designs there are other safe OPTIONS FINALLY!!

Fortunately Elise hasn't had any bumps or bruises from her crib rails, but lately she's been getting her legs stuck in between the bars so I've been looking for a solution. We didn't even buy a bed set, just a few crib sheets and Scott's mom handmade her a quilt. Can't wait for the giveaway video! I also signed the petition.

We were WAY to cheap to buy a bedding set but had I known about this I would have bought it in a heartbeat!! I LOVE how it can be used with their bed when they are older!
@Billabonglova Haha yep, she is nutso when she sleeps! Her crib converts straight to a double when she's ready for a "big girl bed" - I imagine we're going to need about 12 bed rails, hahaha.
OMG~ THat is SOOOO smart! I've been looking for a different style bumper and this is perfect! We orignially had traditional but they scare me to death! We tried to put a net bumper on our crib but it wouldn't fit. My 13mo daughter has gotten her legs stuck between the slats TWICE so I have her sleeping in a pack n play bc it wasn't safe to be in her crib w/o some kind of bumper. (left bad bruises and was so scary!) I don't know if I can afford these so I might have to make some similar. Thanks!
@TabMcgee I wish it was something I knew about before my daughter came because we would have bought them before!!! I actually have a friend whose daughter broke her foot because of it getting caught between the slats! The few weeks we had nothing in our crib my daughter woke up numerous times SCREAMING because her legs were caught & then was scared to go back to sleep!! They are a bit $ and we would have had to save up/budget for them but it's so refreshing to know there is SOMETHING out there!

OMG~ THat is SOOOO smart! I've been looking for a different style bumper and this is perfect! We orignially had traditional but they scare me to death! We tried to put a net bumper on our crib but it wouldn't fit. My 13mo daughter has gotten her legs stuck between the slats TWICE so I have her sleeping in a pack n play bc it wasn't safe to be in her crib w/o some kind of bumper.
