The Beatles influence really carried. I can't believe they did that much of a fashion copy - I can see some things but this............. Whats the make/manufacturer on the lead guitar
Wiki; The Merseybeats became well known for their distinctive style of fashion. They were credited as the 'Best Looking Group', dressed in tight-fitting suits with bolero jackets and frilly shirts. Their outfits, complete with high-heeled zip boots, provoked hysteria from their female fans .. great band!
@moorlock2003 excuse me my freind but they were calledThe Merseybeats not Merseys !! back in the 60s' and did have a big hit with Sorrow chek it out !!
I know they were first The Merseybeats. The band imploded and the two singers became The Merseys. I'm quite aware of these facts. "Sorrow" by The Merseys is a fantastic record.
@lyndloo Before you make future mistakes, The Merseybeats became The Merseys in 1966 at the insistance of their managers, Kit Lambert and Chris Stamp......It's a very well known story actually. You should do a bit of research and find out (before you go on to make another gaff, as you already have. Along with the superior, 'Excuse me etc., etc.')....By the way, That's when they recorded, 'Sorrow'......Byee.
@fenderbass1966 One tries, hahahaaa!!...Thanks for the comment, I do love a bit of sarcasm. Heeehheee!!.............But when someone comes in trying to be superior they really should know what they're talking about, huh?................Cheers buddy.
Wow, Hy Litt! So this must be mid-'60s Philadelphia television. Can't say that merseybeat left an indelible impression on most Philadelphians back then. But I'm from there and I've always liked it.
I just love this song.I will be seeing them live this week.I have seen them loads of times before and they have never played this one but this is the stuff i love from them and they are fab live.
OH MY GOD HY LIT He was a famous Philly disk jockey. Real name Hyrum Littsky. He had a great tv show every saturday night. Thats were this video is from. He dies in 2007
Good song. Reminds me a little of the Dave Clark 5 in terms of style. Their one album is a nice little gem to have. The only negative I have about them is their suits, particularly their jackets and the color.
alpine9xx, could you please explain to all us humans with a brain what your comment is supposed to mean, cuz to me it is a stupid pointless comment with swearing in it???
One of my favourite songs from The Merseybeats. I have a "Greatest Hits" CD of The Merseybeats and I like them. One of the representatives of the Merseybeat sound.
