Wow your canon camera looks good, also that black strip on the top and bottom makes your video looks heaps more better.

I agree. The Canon only shoots in widescreen which results in the bars, but it has two effects - it gives a black border, and apparently the YouTube encoders also work better with the bars - as it causes the filters to focus on encoding the rest of the screen in higher quality, so it comes out surprisingly well. I also like it as space for translations and subtitles. Thanks for the feedback!

Hey Hikosaemon go to 02:47 what is with the grandma's cheek. its normal then it changes to a black blotch, right when she notices she's on camera she hides the bump. what is that black bump?

Hey there, it is funny, it does look odd at first, but if you look at hi-res frame by frame, you can see that the bumps are on both sides of the face - it is just what age does to faces of Japanese ladies (skin builds up a bit on the cheekbones) - the darkness is a shadow in a natural position if you look at the rest. Still, an interesting catch!

The HF10 really takes beautiful video, even through YouTube. I am thinking maybe of making this my regular camera now - the video is very nice and I can use the black space for subtitles, perhaps... The problem is you can all see when I don't shave (LOL)!

Ken Tanaka is a legend. I enjoyed his response video as well, and recommend it - he's a really nice guy.

Nice hook, where did you get it? I have two from hawaii. Im wearing one right now. Im curious to know. I saw a korean where one the other day. Ive only seen us hawaiians where it until now. The hook is a Maori hei matau from New Zealand. I really love this one too - it is an antique made from whale bone. New Zealand Maori culture is very similar to Hawaiian culture (both Polynesian, and language is very similar too). Haha, no worries on the cube mate, I'm sure that you're light years ahead of me - I'm faster now, but I need to pick up a different solving method to speed up I think. I'll keep an eye out for your vids.

Definetly sounds like your telling the truth. Im glad to know that you know what your talking about when it comes to polynesian culture. Its appreciated :D Both are made from whale bone for mine. By the way you do need to learn a new method. How fast you wanna get? Up to you but this guy right here offers the best of advice for cubes. Sure hes a kid but i learned how to solve the 4x4x4 and 5x5x5 by his videos. After Subscribing to him, he has some preety tasty videos for you to watch! ;)

Hey, I'll check that cube guy you subscribe to out man - actually, with a handle like kaimana, I should have picked it up sooner dude. It's a long story (for another vid perhaps) but I grew up in towns where people were mostly Maori, and my Dad taught me from a young age to learn and respect the culture. I don't have any Maori blood, but being a Kiwi, I like to think of myself as a proud pacific islander!

Rikufan, glad you liked it. All you need is some simple software to type in Japanese - if you google "type in Japanese" you can find some to download, and you should be away! I use a Japanese computer so the input function is built in (and my keyboard is different). Typing is a good way to learn to read kanji, so go looking and it is easy to find.

新発見、ヒゲの剃り跡。

この映りは女性達にとっては脅威ですね。YouTubedeで解­像度が下がっても、Canon伝統のしなやかな色彩の映像にホレ­ボレします。

余談ですが、レンズのカラーバランスは、ＩＳＯ・国際基準値が決­められていて、基準値の規格の基になったのがキャノンの標準レン­ズＦＤ５０Ｆ１．４なんだそうです。

彦さんの動画は、YouTube高画質設定で見ないと、もったい­ないですね。

HF10はやっぱり美しいですね。でも、仰る通り、高画質でみな­いともったいないですね。

たまに標準画質でも同じぐらいきれいな動画がYouTubeにあ­るけど、どうやって出来ているのかがよくわかりませんね。

後ヒゲはですね・・・実はHF10の部屋の中の動画は次の日に撮­影したので、余計出てますね（笑）。そればよかったかもしれませ­ん・・・

Though it is not a specialty, the MPEG4 data might be better.

DinosaurJp, actually, I did many tests for video quality with MOV, WMV9, AVI and so on, but the best was MPEG4/H.264. I understand that this is because this is the formate YouTube uses, so the video is filtered the least. My software "VideoStudio12" has an automatic YouTube output setting that I have never been able to beat with manual settings, even making very large files.

It looks like you know a bit about this! ;)

I got the keitai purely for its size, and expected nothing from the camera, but it actually is pretty good (and it takes more than acceptable photos). Gotta hand it to those people at Samsung - it's a good reminder to Japanese makers that they need to keep their game up!

Nice one! I enjoyed the comparisons. The high quality is really nice, and the HF 10 footage is sweet. How much is that camera?

My net connection is not really fast enough to keep up although they are installing Hikari Fiber in my building this week, and I am upgrading to 100Mbs.

I've tried saving to MPEG4 highest quality and always come up with crap. I have pretty good luck saving to WMV, double pass.

Eric mate, thanks for the tip. It is frustrating that high quality takes so long to load, but for this test, it's worth it. The HF10 is going for about 100,000 in big shops, but I got it for around 80,000 from PC Select, that I found by Kakaku. It's definately nice quality.

Thanks for the tip with WMV as well. It seems to me that Mac users get good quality as well... Ah well, I look forward to YouTube's next upgrade!

Hey Catherine! Generally things here are cheap, and they come out fast, but lately the US dollar is weak so it is about the same. The webcam is nice - it costs a little bit more than most webcams, but the quality is worth it. Thanks for the comment!

Runnyrunny999, dude, that's Ken Tanaka from helpmefindparents! He's a native speaker! It's a long story but you can see on his videos on his channel. He always finds great topics about people for his videos - his video response to this video is a great example! He makes probably my favorite videos on YouTube.
