  • Cool! I'm gonna make a steampunk breast pump!

  • I call bullshit. You can't possibly build one of these things with soda cans. It's a lie designed to keep the population calm. Fucking show me, then I'll believe it.

  • fuc***** machine!!!!!!

  • hook up the spinning disk to a water pump and put a coil of pipe through ice in a cooler and run the cold water back through engine to cool it. once warmed by engine the water then leaves the engine and goes back through the ice, repeating the process. then hook the engine up to whatever you want.

  • Interesting to see how much faster it goes with bigger temperature difference :D

  • コーラコーラコーラコーラコーラコラコラコラコラコラコラコラ・・・・

  • @Lafffatyou roflmfao ............................ sorry just had to pick myself off the floor yeah well that might work i guess till ur **** fell off or something lol

  • fap fap fap fap fap

  • how did you connect the fire box to the bottom of the can?

    please respond

  • your motors are BEAST

  • @Dillon12123 hmm I tried that, but still my crank get stuck ,..

  • will it spin even without the fire??

  • i've been trying to make this but somehow it does not work, It does not spin properly, can you pls help me? I really need this for my p6 project

  • @selftitled14 i can maybe help make sure the balloon is somewhat air tight to test pull it up real quick and it should suck itself together

  • is there any substitute for the steel wool?

  • @Lafffatyou LOL'D

  • Like ..... A BOSS

  • COOL!:))

  • What soda can do u use

  • @ryanclifton1 It's just a Tesco cola can 330ml, the same as most cans.

  • @specallez can i use instead of steel wool as a displacer the bottom cap of the coke can?

  • can I use something else for displacer piston?I cant find steel wool

  • @LZ2SM i got hella steel wool at lowes or home depot for $6 enought to make hella

  • Use a blowtorch an you can get at least 1000 RPM

  • How much crank horse power?

  • I think i'm not able to make a good diaphragm. mine doesn't work good and it cannot drive a crankshaft. now I'm actually trying your ASAP model.

  • an engine that runs on... water????? U DID IT MAN!!

  • use the burner of a hot air balloon

  • o treco o treco..........

  • Thanks for inspiring me for a second Stirling engine!

    /watch?v=KK4CK5Uhl5U

Unfortunetly I have to modify a lot (lack of materials :( ), thus it's far from perfection... still, it's amazing!

  • do one with 4 candles and a bigger flamebox, but not so long ur engine overheats

  • fap fapf papfapfapfap

  • can this be connected to an alternator ? or maybe it should be created on a larger scale ? Btw great project !!!

  • that is very cleanly made so im definatly makeing one

  • that's awsome! can you teach me how to build one in another video

  • @mathscirocks Thanks, I'd like to do some how to vids but my computer is too slow to edit the HD vids! There's some guides on my website in the description, though.

  • @specallez who says HD is a requirement?

  • @mathscirocks the

    the

    the

  • ive been working on one of these. however i keep on encountering a problem. when i turn the flywheel, it only turns about 1 or 1 1/2 times...how can i fix this problem? i followed every step, but the only problem is it doesnt spin very well...plz help asap

  • @phoshizzo You could try replacing one or both of the bearings with sheet metal ? It sound like something is not well aligned though. Perhaps loosen the balloon.

  • i get the top assembly and how to do the cans but i forget how it goes under the balloon i know the piston is in there but what and how it attaches i'm oblivious a little help? i love these things!

  • That's a balloon with the top of a bottle glued to it

  • fapper 3000.

  • how did you make that?

  • please make a video on how to make it! i have to present it by nxtwek! could please help me ;)

  • btw what is a terminal block and what does it does on the engine, and where can i get it?

  • Hi,can someone please message me telling me what these are used for, why, and what liquid was used to make the plastic capp go up and down thankyou A.S.A.P

  • @Lafffatyou or even a flashlight! :P

  • there's a vid of an 800 rpm coke stirling engine. it's baffling

  • what did you use for the piston and how did you get it to move freely?

  • I just built one myself and I'm having issues getting it going. I followed your instructable almost identical and I was very meticulous. I'm a mechanic, so I didn't figure it'd be too hard to make.

For the displacer, I used a little condiment container with a lid. I didn't have any steel wool at my house. I was wondering if this displacer is too light weight. There's no problem with the displacer falling down.

The other issue is I don't know the timing very well... Any advice?

  • @joeknowsbaseball Did you seal up the displacer container ? If it's not sealed it might not work because the containers contains a load of useless dead air space that heat's up and creates pressure that can't be controlled. Wire wool works because it takes up most of the air space. The lighter the displacer the better!

The timing should be that if lay the displacer arm of the cranks flat on the table, the other two arms should point perfectly vertical.

  • This must be what the tin man sounds like when he is beating off.

  • please make a video on how to make it

  • yet I could not understand how these engines =/

  • I can't really say whether it's hard or not. I found it very easy but I've built quite a few Stirlings, it depends on the person whether they find it hard or not. You can look

on my site in the more info box to find the instructions, if you want to see what it involves to build one of these.

  • is it hard to build i want to make one. i see one but i want to make a simple one like this.

  • @specallez u should make a tiny waterpump from straws ( no idea how) and add a cooling water tank!!

  • @SthealthRaider When you put the cut can on the other can you're not pushing from the top because that will rip it. When you make the next one, cut the top can's bottom off and push it onto another can this will make it easier to fit. Thendo the rest.

Maybe the balloon is too tight, or too small. Or it could be that the stroke of it is too long .

Perhaps you could post some photo's somewhere ? My first engine took some ridiculous amount of time to get working, but after that it became easier

  • Lets put a big one over a volcano lol

  • i fail to understand what this is for....

  • How does it work? Tea candle heats bottom of the can. I'm guessing that balloon is not directly exposed to flame. Or is it? I've seen balloon that didn't break as long as there was water in it. Are you going to post some Instructables or something like that?

  • @Yelonek1986

Yes there is an instructable that I wrote I can't add a link here for some reason but I'll but the link in the more info box. Have a look it should answer your questions.

  • @specallez Thanks, I've found it already. Nice work!

  • @specallez Thanks, there should have been a link originally but I must have forgotten to put it there.

  • Why did you use wire wool for the displacer, wouldn't balsa wood have been better?

  • @locouk It supposed to work as a regenerator to make it more efficient. Plus I think it reduces the dead space in the engine because you can shape it to the domes in the can.

  • Pretty neat!

  • Hey, looks like your new design is really coming along! Nice little beta can engine! Congratulations!

  • @approtechie Thanks. It works better than my last model!

  • sweet

  • Great work!

    Nice machine!

    Best regards!

    Blade

  • @bladeattila Thanks! I'm going to add a water cooling jacket to it soon, so hopefully it should run fast for longer.
