well ... after doing some tweeking i found out that using your set up the only thing i need to adjust beside your tweeks was unchecking the host engine box that says ignore errors during playback/record..... right under cpu usage limit box on the playback engine set up window, thanx for your input was very useful... this work for me im protools 8.05
Just record 4-8 bars set up your rtas plugins bus out to record within pro tools and then delete the tracks with the plugins that should get you around that problem
This problem got worse for me as I continued recording. The playback engine would not work to bounce anything. I upgraded and bought Pro Tools 10 and I don't have this problem anymore. I like it so far.
It worked for me! so happy because can't really afford to upgrade to ten. Thanks!
